Freak (II) (2011)
10/10
A Excellent film with a message
15 November 2011
Freak is an exceptionally well made film by director Eric Casaccio that deals with a tormented trans gender actor preparing for an audition for a role he's desperate to get. The odds are against him and he's about to loose his agent. We watch his ordeal unfold, brilliantly played by Aaron Merken, over the course of the day. Aaron's performance guided by Casaccio's direction manages to covey a wide range of emotions that never delve into parody but always stay connected to truth which makes it mesmerizing. This allows Casaccio to deal with the films deeper message....acceptance in a world filled with bigotry, abuse and condemnation. I was deeply moved by this film and I hope it is widely seen because the message of "Freak"is important. It shouts out our need to respect people for who they are and not criticize them for how they look or their sexual orientation. In a time where so many young people are taking their lives because of being bullied Eric Casaccio's Freak is a perfect calling card to learn "acceptance". Bravo Eric Casaccio for making "Freak"
