Highly underated
28 April 2023
I have read a lot of stupid 1 and 2 star reviews by people who weren't paying attention to the movie. People are complaining that the people aren't nicely behaved - did those same people complain about

Firstly, she does stay in a villa and anybody who has travelled overseas knows that a lot of old big houses have been turned into apartments and secondly, she has been planning for this trip for years and schoolteachers save for vacations. I know having been married to one.

While all roads lead to Rome, this movie is not at all predictable. I was watching this movie for a little while before I thought "he looks a lot like "Tom Hopper" and was surprised to look the movie up and see it was indeed Tom. He plays a totally different character, and you could believe that is his natural self because he is so at ease. Great acting.

Although you think the movie has an inevitable conclusion nothing is further from the truth. There is nothing corny about it and if you have ever experienced thwarted romance then this will resonate with you.

By the way the dinner scene is a hoot.

Spoiler alert: Tom does get married to Cassie. In real life that is. They are husband and wife :)

Better left to the imagination

I'm sure that what the director refers to as "the money shot" was a turn on for them and the actor but it is an image that has burned holes in my retina.

Borderline Political
7 August 2021
This is my favorite TV series of all time. Having said that it must not become political and become influenced by Apple's executives otherwise I will stop watching it. Having said that (again) it brought my attention to something that I had to research and was glad I did. Bringing our attention to things like this which we should be aware of is not political but when writers go this far they can become emboldened and let politics creep in and dominate, like "The Good Fight".

Keep it loose guys as your writing is brilliant and the acting does the writing justice.

Gina Bellman used to speak perfect English but now she appears to have taken English lessons from Aldis Hodge, no insult intended. She has forgotten when to use the different pronunciations of "the" and as for "keep him PREoccupied" instead of "keep him occupied"! Pre would mean that he is already preoccupied. Such a pity as she used to speak immaculately.

Politics have turned me off
27 April 2021
I have watched this show from the beginning and although I am politically independent I can see now why the Right speaks of cancel culture due to what the writers have done in this episode and will no longer be watching. "I figure we should talk" was never shown on screen but if it is shown in the next episode to dissolve this then I shall remove this review. One more show to watch.

When a show like "The Good Fight" has the writers' political views spill and take center stage I might as well watch a radical news broadcast instead of chilling out.

Surprised
20 April 2021
When I saw this was an Aussie production I wrote it off expecting some yobbo, fair dinkum affair but when I saw it had replaced Harrow I thought I'd give it 5 minutes. And about an hour later I was glad of the time I hadn't wasted. I found it credible, the acting more than passable and something worth looking for the second episode.

I found it entertaining although I am not sure where the Mystery comes in. I hope the writing continues to support what I think could be a very goodseries.

Urine DNA?
17 April 2021
Urine is generally classed as DNA free, sterile, unless the donor has cancer or a similar affliction. The sample was deposited on bed clothes which would make the likelihood of a liquid pool for testing unlikely even if it did contain DNA.

Incest is OK if you love each other
27 February 2020
The thing to take from this episode is that the heart wants what the heart wants and being brother and sister shouldn't stop you getting married if you love each other. It's a good thing this hospital has an "inclusive" psychiatrist.

Another Disney disaster
24 February 2020
I don't watch the series but somebody told me about season 2 episode 14 (The Sleepover) so I've watched it. Why is it not OK for a 13 year old boy and a 13 year old girl to have sex in a parents house but it is for 2 boys? I immediately thought Disney but discovered it was ABC but further investigation shows that Disney owns ABC. Walt would turn in his grave.

Such a good series until the final episode. Again writers trying to create a "new normal" just to get their own agenda across.

Continuity errors spoil it
28 October 2019
I stopped watching after the 2nd continuity error in the first minute with the money. Bad continuity destroys the illusion of good acting ... in this case mediocre acting

If you didn't know how 2 men did it you do now.
28 July 2019
It's a pity you can't give a rating for seasons because seasons 1 & 2 I'd give an 8 but season 3 is mainly about the very graphical sexual relationship between a male white house staffer and a male secret service agent. If you didn't know how 2 men had sex before seeing this you sure do afterwards. It takes away from the story as theirs is the ONLY relationship explored.

This is the first time I have ever seen Netflix kill a program.

Beautiful accent, bad grammar breaks the spell
13 July 2019
This is an excellent series only marred for me by the fact that Caitriona Balfe's American English with a beautiful English accent. It is like dropping out of character and reverting to her own language. Every time she does this I am reminded she is not English and the spell is broken. Hopefully she will get it right before the new season because she has the most beautiful accent and I want to stay in the fantasy of the story. Americans pronounce words differently and when she does that it is like catching the reflection of a cameraman.

Too rushed, too crammed, too little effort
20 May 2019
While the eventual result might have been OK the writing, directing and even acting was not. This was like the very long joke which has a very quick, poor and poorly delivered punch line that leaves people frustrated they spent so long listening to the joke.

The whole season has been rushed as if it had to be crammed in as if the writer had written 3 episodes which had to be squeezed into 1. The gathering of all the noble houses came out of nowhere and everything was rushed as if it was the last episode but this episode should have been treated as any other episode rather than making it seem like it all had to be finished before 5 O'clock. Too much of this season and even the last was rushed and what was a great series for 6 seasons just fizzled out. I am bitterly disappointed and if they were to do their fans and the show justice they would reshoot the episode, extending it, keep the same result but add some acting and storyline.

I believe they would have done better not to shoot the last season and just cancel it and then everybody's reputation would have been preserved.

If they had not had anything after the dragon flew off but had merely had onscreen dialogue to explain how it ended I think they would have done better as the poor and hurried scenes immediately sent the episode into a nosedive. There were no "moments" of acting, no "cutting" words, no moments of suspense.

It would be financially sensible for them to redo the last season as they have killed the golden goose and it is worse than if they had run out of money and not shot the last season. At least if they replace the last season they will have a series to sell

I will keep my eye out for the alternate ending.

They ruined a good series by trying to cram too much into 6 episodes. Probably because they were paying the main actors too much.

Too crammed
19 May 2019
This last season should have been spread out over more episodes. It reminds me of a six part 1 hour TV series that they have cut and spliced into a 2 hour movie. For an example the scene where Tyrion exposes Varys is not believable and it feels like we have missed something.

Supersonic raven
4 February 2019
Work this out. Our heroes are surrounded by the walking dead. Gendry runs to the wall, tells his story to the night's watch, a message is composed and sent by a raven over a thousand miles to Dragonstone, Daenerys Targaryen gets organized and flys back ... all in 1 night. That has to be the fastest raven ever.

I didn't see that coming
5 July 2018
Lizzie shows little personality but certainly comes across a person slow to jump into anything new so when she and Julian, who hardly know each other, are all of a sudden all over each other I was shocked as it is totally unrealistic and does not happen in the straight world.

The writing is getting weaker.

Trump - Day 450
22 April 2018
I watch the Good Wife and Obama was not mentioned in every episode but the writers of this series can't make one episode without denigrating Donald Trump. That makes this a personal political agenda rather than a legal series. If it wasn't for this I would advertise during the show.
