The positive reviews were written by children !!!!
My wife and I had the misfortune of stumbling into this (the world's worst movie) this evening. I can't recall the last time I saw a movie this horrible......EVER. I should have known that we were in trouble when I realized we were the only people in the theater over the age of 17. This was actually the only time I was not annoyed by kids constantly texting during the movie.....it was a welcome distraction from the torture of having to watch this trainwreck. The plot points were sensational and ridiculous, the story was absolutely stupid, and the script was obviously written by a 14 year old. I found myself giggling at the stupidity from about the 5 minute mark on. It was a real challenge to stay for the entire movie hoping it would somehow get better but it did not. When the credits started rolling, the theater filled with snickers and phrases such as "worst movie ever" and "that was really stupid". I heard one guy say "I wonder if we could get our money back". Do yourself a favor and avoid this piece of garbage at all costs!!!!
My older brother and I talked our father into taking us to see this movie when we were very young. At the time, I was 8 yrs old and my brother was 14. We had no idea that they were showing a double feature that day. The first movie was one we had never even heard of before - Cheech and Chong's Up InSmoke. We laughed so hard I thought we were going to die. What a gem we stumbled onto. Then, Racquet started and I think we made it through about 45 minutes before leaving. The only memorable scene for me was one of two people having sex in a small hatch-back type of car and of the man's naked butt smashing up against the back (rear) window. Oh, and I think there was something about tennis to the movie. That's about the best I can do. So you see, if it wasn't for this horrible film, I never would have seen Up In Smoke on the big screen.
