The Crow: Wicked Prayer (2005)
Different, but good anyway
Many people seems to dislike the 4rth epic of the CROW series, yet, this one isn't as bad as it first seem.
Of course, it is set in a completely different kind of universe than the previous one. Its western-spaghetti first look may push some of you to run away screaming insanely... Yet, it is completely justified as you proceed into the movie. Of course, it could have been better exploited, but the director had only 23 days to complete the movie! And "it could have been better exploited" can be said to almost EVERY movies. So take off this coat of ultimate knowledge about what is good and baaaad in movies in general, and take a close look to this one.
If I had to compare it to another movie, about the depth, the style, and the way it was construct, it would be "from Dusk 'til Dawn" with Clooney.
Of course, there are flaws, but as far as I'm concerned, the main flaw is the overacting of Boreanaz. He's almost never credible. In front of him, Edward Furlong, so long target of rotten tomatoes in other movies, makes an incredible performance. He (Furlong) deserved to have a better partner ^^; He is able to perform the once murderer hated by everyone, who wants to lead his life straight, and who has to get back into a violence he doesn't accept, in order to put wrong things right.
I'm only disappointed by the fact it never came out in theater in the country where I am. I had to wait it to come in DVD into another country to FINALLY get my hands on it :'(...
So, in brief, it is NOT A PERFECT movie, but worth watching it anyway :)
