At first it felt so disconnected I thought it was an anthology instead of a movie. It got a little better but not enough where I'd recommend it or watch it again.

The Terminal List
(2022– )
Really solid show, went a little overboard with the flashbacks.
15 August 2022
I really liked this show. It was good from start to finish. Plenty of intrigue and action.
The one thing I hated were the flashbacks. It was almost enough to make me give it a six because I had to fast forward and you don't do that with shows rated seven and above.
The rest of the show was that good.
My feedback was trim about 90% if that stuff and you'd have a real winner.

It's not really bad full length movie.

I was watching the movie and about a third of the way through I wondered why I was watching an anthology movie like VHS. A bunch of seemingly random stories connected by a single thread.
It's not a cohesive film from start to finish. Which is a shame because the actors were all really quite good. Sadly it's a lot of monologuing back and forth.
Remember in Black Mass when one person would litteraly speak for five miny without anyone else talking even though it was supposed to be a conversation. It's like that but not quite so bad.
Hope they do better in the future. Tons of potential here.

Resident Evil

Really dislike the main character

I was super excited about this, and now I don't know if I'll even make it to episode two. My wife started working on something else why we were watching, and I'm writing this.
You want to have MC that people connect with or else what's the point of a backstory. This is really bad, if I don't watch another episode I'll drop it to two stars.
Possibly worse than their attempt at Texas Chainsaw.

Interceptor
(2022)
It's actually not that bad

The only thing I really hated about this film was the MC back story. It would have been a much better movie if her back story was her doing special training, learning skills, maybe some bonding with her dad.
But not what it was.
But not what it was.
Candyman
(2021)
Terrible Ending, otherwise solid story
18 May 2022
Two things missing from this movie were horror. I'd call it suspense at best. And the ending. I watched the whole movie thinking alright this is a little over the top, but the ending took this from 6-7 stars to two stars in an instant.
It's supposed to be horror, let's have some fun.

Wrong Turn
(2021)
Bad Lazy Writing, not a Wrong Turn movie
23 May 2021
Not a single man eating hillbilly in a Wrong Turn movie. In fact, the monsters in this movie might as well be the kids.
A couple of things really stand out, this is not part of the Wrong Turn franchise, and marketing it as such is like stealing.
WTF, no cannibal hillbillies. It's just wrong. The end was weak, and I mostly just felt sorry for the hill people for having run into such short kids.

Halloween
(I) (2018)
So Michael isn't her brother now.
23 October 2020
I went back and watch the original just to make sure, but the kid clearly lives in the house everyone calls him by name, and isn't weirded out he's in the house, and the parents don't freak out when they see him with a knife.
Fast for to Rob Zombie's Halloween, and still the brother.
But now he's just a psycho killer, because you couldn't possibly have a man, be a killer and her brother. He has to be some kind of crazy delusional woman hater, that despite being locked away twice for a total of what fifty or sixty years still doesn't want anything but to kill her.
Frankly the movie was shot well, the actors are pretty damned good, but the story suffers quite a bit from the changed narritive.

Hallowed Ground

This Writer/Director Could really use some help.

This Movie, and The Dinner Party are so bad. Twenty minutes of nothing followed by two minutes of action followed by thirty minutes of nothing.
This guy has decent ideas, and finds pretty good actors and actress, but suffers from not having a sounding board or someone who can tell him no or how to make a cohesive film.
Sadly there is a studio out there that keeps buying these.

The Dinner Party
(2020)
Every scene starts with a twenty minute monologue
21 October 2020
OK maybe they aren't twenty minutes long, but this movie has horrible pacing issues. By the time I made it forty minutes in I started fast-forwarding over large swaths of dialogue.
If they cut this movie in half they could tell the same story and it might actually be watchable.
Film work, not bad.
Actors, pretty decent.
Story - not great.
Wouldn't watch again, wouldn't have made it to the end without fast-forwarding.

The Haunting of Bly Manor
(2020)
Not worth the watch.

I couldn't have been more disappointed in this, maybe one or two good scares in nine hours. So the whole time I kept telling myself just wait for the pay off will be at the end, it wasn't. There is literally no point to the entire story.
Part of me is screaming out to give it a 1, but it doesn't deserve that, the show isn't God awful it's just not good.
Mostly what you get from this is nine separate depressing stories that mingle into one depressing moment. I'm not going to ruin the end but it was worthless save yourself some time and just rewatch Hill House.
Seriously all I feel now is empty, I'd never watch this again.

WNUF Halloween Special
(2013)
They really shot the entire movie using a low def filter.
6 October 2020
I started watching made it about five minutes in, and thought is this filter really going to be used for the entire movie? I mean, it would be crazy to release a movie that looks worse than when we used to pick up tapes at Blockbuster and it's shot that way not just to bring you back, but for the entire film.
Wasn't a bad idea for these folks.
Fast forwarded from the five minute mark to over half way and it's all shot in the same low def broken and cracked filter. Turned it off. Probably going to cancel Shudder if they think acquiring movies like this is a good idea.

The fact this movies actually has award nominations, and wins listed just shows you how much money has to do with results.
I'm not even sure you can call this a movie. It's like a couple kid got together on the weekend and said let's write a movie and film it on phones in two days. The movie is that bad. Spent most of it in fast-forward, and then gave up about half way through.
You know a movie is bad when you can't even put it on in the background while doing other things.
