Breaking Bad: Fly (2010)
Season 3, Episode 10

I love this episode
26 February 2024
This is one of the standout episodes for me. At the time of watching it; I couldn't quite understand why they were so focused on this fly and shooting the entire episode in one scene really. But now it's one of my favorites. You got to spend time with just Walt and Jesse alone. You heard more into Walt's thinking and fears. It was vague and focused onto this fly but in it you heard some more into Jesse's past and family. It's just a special episode for me now looking back and one that I often return to. It's a simple episode that steps away from all the action and deep drama that we've come to know and love about this series. This episode keeps it simpler and focuses instead on character development and enhancement. It worked incredibly well! Sometimes it's the episodes and storylines at the moment that don't always make sense.. when you can return later and piece together the story with the overall plot, and come to comprehend its completeness and clarity better = it has a way of solidifying this show as one of my all time favorites and reminds me why I love these characters so much!!

How I Met Your Mother: The Leap (2009)
Season 4, Episode 24
10/10
One of the best episodes of the series
25 January 2024
This has to be the best season finale in all the series - right next to the season 8 finale. What puts this one slightly ahead of S. 8 finale though is a solid season before it, whereas S. 8 was one of the weaker seasons in all, despite having some of the best episodes throughout the series (Time Travelers, S. 8 premiere, finale, etc.) most of the episodes were weaker. I can't say the same for S. 4 The episodes generally were solid and your more standard HIMYM show - funny, engaging, fun, entertaining, etc.

It was just a strong season. Plus it was probably the last where you feel it being a younger, newer show.. somewhat of a Part 1 if it's to be split into segments. The later-half of the series sort of begins around S. 5 or 6 I'd say.

S. 5 they begin to grow up and mature a little more. Many are 30+ at that point.

Seasons 1-4 they're basically in their 20's.

And what a way to end the season and segment! It was an amazingly written episode. It pulled a lot of loose ends together and tied up earlier plots and you had a sense of completion for many of the earlier storylines and themes.

S. 6 starts somewhat anew. You move into deeper ground and territory.

It begins to prove itself a lot.

But this is one of those episodes I always return to. I have maybe 5-8 episodes that stand-out in my mind as critical, special, captivating episodes throughout the 200+ episodes - this is one of them.

Everything is right about the episode. The soundtracks featured, the storylines, the atmosphere, the subtle messages it passes off; the way you really began to root for Ted and see some growth and maturity unfolding (in all of them really), but the show continues being who and what it is: a network sitcom. Funny. Goofy.

It's these episodes every now and again that make the show worth returning to and re-watching again and again even years later.

How I Met Your Mother: Home Wreckers (2010)
Season 5, Episode 20

A standout episode
25 January 2024
This is amongst one of those episodes from the pack of 200+ episodes in all, where you look back and recognize where the series began to show signs that it was something more than just a standard half-hour sitcom. We seen some flexibility in this episode with the ability to remain funny and remain in that comedic tone while blending some deeper elements into it. We would see much more of this after season 6 or so, but it was a couple episodes before that where it seemed to experiment with the idea of going a little deeper. It worked here - as it did throughout the second half of the series. This is one highlight of this show that seems to separate it from the batch of other traditional network sitcoms. It was great about carrying larger plots and storylines throughout its run; while managing the episode-to-episode formula each week in the traditional way. So you could drop in at any episode or season during re-watch and take it as you would any other long-running sitcom. You can watch 1 or 2 episodes or binge watch - either way you have a story in its completion each episode, with an ongoing mystery yet to be revealed until the end of the series. It's creative, new for its time, always funny, the chemistry between the cast members is nearly unmatched, the scenery of NYC at the backdrop and the overall theme and vibes is special. It has a way of bringing you back to 2005 or 2010 in every way. While remaining as relevant and funny today as ever.

But this episode is one of the first in the series to prove that it's so much more than just a sitcom - that a very special show is before you and yet to reveal itself in its entirety. This is due to CBS giving the writers and creators so much freedom to do what they wanted with their show. And it proved magical. Sometimes the network executives just need to back off and allow the younger talent time and freedom. You just might get something amazing.

Schitt's Creek: The Cabin (2015)
Season 1, Episode 5

One of the series best
29 October 2022
This is one of my top favorites from the series 80 episode run. Only a few episodes into the series and were finding the Rose family settling into their new town more and connecting with some locals when Alexis and David throw a little party at the hotel after Moira and Johnny take off for a night to spend a little time away at the mayors cabin. We really start to get a feel for who these characters are outside of their Beverly Hills arena, especially Alexis and David. We learn how much of a social butterfly Alexis is and how much of a homebody David is and the sibling chemistry between the two gets pealed back further. This is always one of those episodes I go back to when watching the series over again.

I am happy I settled on this one . . .
2 July 2022
I seen the trailer a couple times and did a brief Google search and looked over the ratings and got an idea that it was relatively well-received by most for being a simple, "feel-good", uplifting kind of film.

I decided to give it a good 20 minutes and go from there and I was drawn in immediately. I thoroughly enjoyed the on-screen chemistry between the 2 leads and the fun, adventurous sense of vibe I received watching this. It's one of those rarities that come along every once in a long while that engages you for its simplicity rather than graphics or an intricate production. I enjoyed just watching the main cast regardless of what they were doing and it had a way of reminding me of "simpler" times even though it's set in recent times but the overall appearance and gesture was one of a bit of times not long ago.

The cast was perfection, the acting superb, the excitement and thrill and sense of adventure added with a classic "feel-good" ending just made it a perfect movie night for me. I recommend this FOR ALL. Everyone from any demographic, age group, gender, religion, and race will enjoy this movie.

I have particularly been fond of the studio that brought us this film - amongst several other great ones over the past couple of years - Paramount Pictures.

They have been surpassing Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery at the box office with a couple surprise smash hits lately.

A strong episode
16 April 2022
This was one of those episodes that stand out from the series as a whole. It's a major life event for Rachael (and Ross) and for us the viewers who have followed them for 8 years at that point. So it was definitely an exciting episode to watch and be part of.

It was also a ratings smash. Friends always did amazing in the Nielsen television ratings but this one brought an additional 10 million people from the episode prior and about 12 million more compared to the season average. 34.91 million folks tuned in to watch Rachael have her baby! That's just unheard of these days. The closest thing in recent memory to come close is The Big Bang Theory, which average 18-20 million people but never did a single episode achieve 30 million.

A solid episode all-around.

200th Episode!
13 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Phenomenal episode! I hoped from the very beginning of starting the series that we would get a perspective from the mother sometime. So, it was great to see the mother's point of view and to get to know the mother more. They represented the actress (cristin milioti) who played the mother quite well here and the episode all-around was great.

An amazing way to celebrate episode 200!

Top 5 episode
13 November 2020
This is one of my all time favorite episodes from the whole series. I can't quite explain why though. I guess drunk Ted is fun to watch for starters! I also enjoyed seeing Winnie from The Wonder Years. The mysterious Pineapple. Just a lot of fun.

This is one of those episodes that randomly have stood out in my memory when I recall this series and will always be a top 5 favorite.
