Melanie weight gain?, 3 March 2017

She seems a lot heavier than a lot of movies I've seen her in? She also was a lot thinner in two and a half men TV series. I really like her as an actress. She is very good with her American accent. I have like her role in every movie and series she has been in. I would like to see her in a science fiction movie.😊😊.

Mistake vs choice?, 26 February 2017

I thought all 3 actors were really good. The intensity and range of emotions of all 3 seemed so real that I had to keep reminding myself that it is just a movie. This movie really hit home as I once had a cheating & deceptive wife. A lot of things go through your mind initially. When adulterers get caught, they almost always say: "I'm so sorry, I made a mistake. What's really going on is they are not sorry for cheating on you. They are sorry that they got caught. Cheating is a " Choice" not a mistake. This is what I think this excellent movie is telling us. Walking in on something like this makes you feel like your heart, along with your trust is ripped out of you. The husband in the movie had a right to be angry. However the way he is showing his anger via violence is wrong. The best thing to do is just leave the two adulterers and file for divorce. That's what needs to be done. There is no way of trying to put the pieces back together. The relationship will always have painful scars. This movie is one that every potential adulterer should watch.

This is not a bad movie. It's just an Aussie version of Conair. The actors in this movie are good. I like the old prison site and real ex convicts being used per authenticity. I think the script could have been a little more original. I liked some of the scenes filmed near Sydney.

Audience silence?, 9 May 2006

Audience silence:

Knowing that this movie was very accurate made me very proud of the passengers and crew.

The best part of the movie for me was watching the passengers charge up the aisle and overwhelming the terrorists. As the cockpit door was being knocked down, I imagine that the terrorist pilot knew that his plans to attack D.C. was not going to be successful.

I was not sure how I would feel going into the movie but I cheered loudly as the passengers charged the terrorist and hearing one of them have his neck broken by in a headlock by a large American man.

It occurred to me that I was one of a very few people in the theater whom cheered. Most sat there in stunned silence.

Larry McMurtry's Streets of Laredo is a non sensical sequel..., 4 April 2005

There appears to be little connection between this movie and the original other then several similar character names. Why did Call become a bounty hunter? Why did he abandon his Montana Ranch? Why is pea eye in Texas and why is Lorena married to him? I thought she was living her dream in San Francisco? James Garner is a great actor but he is not good as Capt Call. Even Jon Voight was a better replacement. I thought that Return to Lonesome Dove was the real sequel, not this poor attempt.

This would have been a good free standing movie if it was not advertised as a Lonesome Dove sequel and the characters would have had non-Lonesome Dove names.

Lonesome Dove: The Series vs-The Outlaw Years, 2 April 2005

*** This review may contain spoilers ***

Last week I received my 21 episode DVD set of "Lonesome Dove, The Series." This series is so good that I watched it all in two days.

Eric McCormack played an interesting character, Clay Mosby was suppose to be a cousin of the famous John Singleton Mosby.

Scott Bairstow did a great job as Newt Call. Christianne Hirt was also great as Mrs Newt Call. She is a very talented and beautiful actress. (She rides a horse like a real cowgirl and roped my heart in the process...LOL) Yesterday I bought the last copy of "Lonesome Dove, The Outlaw Years" at my local Best Buy store. I am already on episode three. It is also a well done series but I really miss Christianne's character.
