Freaks and Geeks (1999)
Its likable.......but unrelatable for 'Non USA' viewers
People not having a education system like USA or system similar to this one most likely wont find this relatable...for example education system in Asia is hugely different from this.
I think most of its followers like it a lot because they can relate to this. I couldn't relate myself to this but i liked it anyway.
At the beginning i was confused about why its so highly rated. I saw normal actors playing normal role in a normal plot. To be honest the story in some episodes is not close to decent. Some key characters don't have enough buildup. A lot of the times they don't have anything to do in the story, they are just in the frame being useless although they are not extras.
But after a while i started seeing how nice the making is. Its not amazing making like Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad or other super popular series but its properly executed. I liked how Lindsay's parents became minor to key characters throughout the run of the series. There are small characters in this who has more impacts than a major one(say i don't see what Seth Rogen is doing here at all).
To summarize a decent TV series. Has some horribly unnecessary characters. Has some very lame episodes. Still the ones which doesn't have these flaws are enough to give this series a go for anyone planning to go classic.
Begin Again (2013)
Full of music
The making of the movie is interesting. The way everything flows has a bit of niceness to it. The songs are good too. One surprising thing is that Keira Knightley's singing is not bad at all. Although the same thing can't be said about the acting of Adam Levine. I think that's the only downside of this movie. It seemed rigid almost all of the time except when he was singing(i guess that's not a big surprise).
Most of the music lovers would enjoy this. I must mention one thing too...the story has a huge amount of similarity with the movie 'Once'. So viewers who have seen that movie wouldn't find this idea new.
To summarize....its a good movie with decent music in it, definitely very enjoyable.
A decent movie
The movie is visually beautiful. The portrayal of Brooklyn and Ireland was spectacular. Saoirse Ronan's acting in the movie is great. The whole time i watched it, she made me feel what she herself was actually going through in the story.
The story on the other hand is a very simple one, yet it felt 'enough'......maybe because a normal iris girls life was like this in real life back then. And for this reason the story feels more authentic and touching to go through.
The making of the movie is good, sound is decent and acting of everyone is obviously great. I would say its a movie worth watching.
