The Office (2005)
It's the little things that get you
This show is my favorite show on television. I am a huge fan of the mockumentary style and The Office does not disappoint. The parts I like the best in the show are the little moments that seem meaningless at first glance. The looks in the faces of the characters are priceless. I know a lot of people rip the show because they think it is a rip-off of the British version but it has developed into its own entity with a great script. The relationships between Jim and Pam, Dwight and Michael, Toby and Michael, Ryan and Michael, Creed just being Creed, Dwight and Angela, or anyone else are all priceless. I have to admit that the show is not going to be everyone's favorite with so much of the comedy in the pauses and reactions but there are so many subtle parts to the show that you can watch each episode several times and still find new funny things. For instance, when Michael opens his cabinet door in one episode you see an enlarged picture of Jan from a company newsletter which is not prominent but when put in context of his "relationship" with her and how pathetic he is about it is just hilarious. The acting in the show is very good (their bread is very good), the reactions are perfect and if some of the people like Phyllis or Toby aren't always perfect, well neither are real people. Overall, just try the show out if you haven't already and find our for yourself what Jell-o is really used for.
