Bosch: Legacy (2022)
Back on track
I was so excited for the return of Bosch! It's a class act.
Titus Welliver is the best manifestation of the Bosch character in Connelly's novels. Mimi Rogers is an extremely underrated actor who plays Honey Chandler to perfection. Maddie Lintz plays who Bosch's daughter gains a lot of respect in her storyline because she yearns to make her father proud, but has a difficult added dimension fitting in as a woman in a troubled and complicated police department. I also enjoy seeing veteran actors like William Devane and Alan Rosenberg. For continuity, I would have liked to see the same opening credits as before but I believe it was an unfortunate decision excluding it as it adds a jazzy atmosphere.

Police are human
The series was better than expected and each season more surprising. Most police dramas ignore procedures and lack police consultants, but that is pretty common and I make every effort to look past it. What sets it apart are the torrid relationships, crazy situations, dark humor and pathos. I liked the continuing story lines. The characters are developed and I found myself empathizing with them. The opening sequence and music is great also. The transition between the scenes needs work making it choppy but it might be intentional. In total it is very human.
Off the Menu (2018)
Surprisingly well done.
Since reading and seeing the film "Like Water for Chocolate", this film ranks high for me in the food film genre. The character, Javiera oozes with love and passion for unadulterated food from her hands in a presentation worthy of an art masterpiece. The town of Villanueva and the community inspires one to want to visit New Mexico. The scenery is breathtaking. I enjoyed both Dania Ramirez and Maria Conchita Alonso as strong women leads. True, the film is predictable, but in a good way.
