The Perfect In-Laws (2023)
Truly Awful
This movie makes you feel like your IQ is dropping for every 5 minutes of watching it. The writing is absolutely awful. The acting is as bad as it can possibly get. In one scene, a gun is being pointed at someone and it looks like a toy gun; there's not even a hole on the end for a bullet to potentially come out of. At least try to make it seem real. And the actor who got "shot" doesn't know how to act injured at all. The sound effects department doesn't know how to make a gunshot sound. The writers thought they were clever by adding all kinds of twists and turns but it just got to ridiculous. No one should be proud of being associated with this movie.
Father of the Bride (2022)
Non-comedy.
I made it halfway through this movie before having to turn it off. I didn't laugh or chuckle even once. Most of my reactions to the movie involved eye rolling. This is more of a political melodrama than an attempt at comedy. The writers clearly try to portray Andy Garcia's character as the "foolish, ignorant conservative" and the rest of the cast is meant to be the "enlightened, sophisticated progressives". The only amusing thing about this movie is how they think they accurately portray the other side of the political spectrum.
