Annie Hall (1977)
Brilliant Wrtting and Amazing Acting Carries This Delightfull Movie, 25 October 2016

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Annie Hall" (1977) is a brilliantly acted and written romance / comedy / drama. Movie was really funny, more then i thought will be. Directing and especially writing by Woody Allen were just brilliant. Acting by Diane Keaton was amazing to say the least - this wasn't acting - this was a real person right in front of us, this is probably her best performance, her crowning achievement, although i always liked her. The story itself is very simple yet, again, amazingly written.

Overall, "Annie Hall" is a delight from start till finish. Very funny, very smart, superbly written and wonderfully acted this is a great movie on all accounts.

I'm officially hooked for this show, 24 October 2016

Greetings from Lithuania.

By each episode of "Westworld" i am more and more hooked for this show. Acting is very good, although i won't think any big awards will shine in acting categories. Story itself is the biggest star of "Westworld", and i love it more and more by each episode.

Episode 4 gave us bit more of the world building. But once we think we try to understand it a bit more (and haven't seen the original movie nor read the novel), it shows as even more things that are mysterious - hope they won't go to far with all the mystery stuff. So far i like what i see and i'm truly hooked for next episodes.

Tree of Life, 24 October 2016

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Uncharted 2: Among Thieves" (2009) is incredible adventure from the opening sequence till the very last frame. The game is amazing. I haven't played upon it's release back in 2009 and i just picked this up now in 2016 along with "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection". Whether you played one of the parts or not, "Among Thieves" is one of the kind.

Plot itself is amazing. It is pure adventure, pure entertainment. Writing is smart and kinda plausible. Action set pieces are amazing as well as acting, voice performances and ... everything. This game was a huge, huge step up from the first game, which i also enjoyed, but this one expands in every possible way. I still do think that maybe as for an adventure game it is a bit more to focused on shooting, especially by the end, when you literally has to shoot your way out. But when mechanics are this good and game play is so polished, it is just a joy to do it.

Overall, if you still haven't play this terrific adventure yet, grab "The Nathan Drake Collection" and do it. It is one of the kind roller-coaster. Amazing VG.

The Beach (2000/I)
Good movie, if not for everyone, 23 October 2016

Greetings from Lithuania.

I always like "The Beach" (2000) more then it probably deserves it. I has breathtaking scenery, nature is itself is wonderful and it was wonderfully shoot. The story itself is simple yet more complex then it appears. This is not a straightforward adventure drama as it might look like, it tries to go a bit deeper, and it is even a pretty good character study movie.

Movie also raises some interesting questions from words of its protagonist Richard, he also has some interesting thoughts during the movie about humans being as vermin - trashing this planet to its core. When heroes of this movie finds safe haven on earth, it is not as innocent as it seems.

Overall, "The Beach" is a bit more then a simple straightforward adventure drama flick. Maybe sometimes it tries to do and show to much that it looses it excellent pacing and flow. But all in all this is a one hard to forget and not to enjoy movie experience.

Fracture (2007)
A First Rate Mystery Thriller, 23 October 2016

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Fracture" (2007) is a very involving mystery / court room/ thriller in a best traditions of Agatha Christie. The story itself is nothing very original, but it has its twists and turns that keeps you kinda glued to your screen. To have Anthony Hopkins in a leading role as a arguably bad guy and Ryan Gosling opposite also helped a lot, to say the least. Others (and there a lot of familiar faces) were also very supportive.

Overall, "Fracture" kinda glued me to my screen because of its story and solid storytelling. Acting was very good and script was kinda refreshing here and there. A very mystery thriller overall.

One Of The Most Disappointing Movies in Recent Memory, 23 October 2016

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Star Trek Beyond" (2016) in my opinion was very average, predictable and uninvolving flick. That said i was very disappointed by it, because i loved the first movie very much, and enjoyed the second part as well.

The most disappointing aspect of this film was its weak, predictable and very formulaic story. It was like watching one of its episodes in a TV show - you saw it and next day you probably won't remember it until the next episode. Special effects were uniformly good but nothing very memorable or exciting. Acting was OK, no one and nothing stood out. Directing was pretty OK, but because of like i said before average story this movie dragged, and first time in many moons watching a big budget high concept product from Hollywood i was watching at my clock as well.

Overall, "Star Trek Beyond" was a big disappointment because of a very predictable and average story. It is very forgettable installment with nothing here that would have made it a bit more exciting. It is not a bad movie by any means, it is just very empty one.

One of The Years Best Thrillers, 22 October 2016

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Imperium" (2016) is a very well made, written and superbly acted thriller based on true events (although i haven't heard about them, it all clicks here to a true life).

Daniel Radcliffe gives arguably the best performance of his career in this movie. The FBI "office" agent who sounds like a nerd and is more sophisticated then he looks like has to change himself into a skin-neo-nazi punk, but who has to act and be smarter then usual punks in order to get to his objective. This is a terrific performance. And here is the thing with "Imperium" - each and every performance in this movie a more then good - they are terrific, this is one of the best acted movies in 2016 hands down. This is a also a very tense, superbly paced and sharply made thriller - at running time 1 h 45 min. i was glued to my screen. Writing and directing by a newcomer (!) Daniel Ragussis are a first rate.

Overall, "Imperium" is a highly involving "going undercover" based on a true events story which works well as a first rate "thinking man's" thriller as well as a good drama. It one of the years best so far.

Intriguing, very well made and with superb production values show so far, 22 October 2016

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Don't judge a book by its cover" says the old saying. This saying could also be perfectly used for TV shows and by saying cover i do refer to pilots. Pilots are always made with all possible resources, money and etc. to attract the viewer, so usually pilots are amazing. But you can get an overall idea of the show like after watching 2 or 3 episodes.

Same is here with the new high profile TV show "Westworld" (2016-). Opening episode (aka. pilot) was really great, 10/10 in my opinion. Second episode was a bit weaker, but still a very good chapter. Acting by a GREAT cast in "Westworld" is uniformly good, but nothing that specially good for which anyone in here so far could get some big awards. Production values are amazing, clearly a loot of money were spent on this show (although it's not quite "Game of Thrones" also).

Overall, so far a very intriguing plot, amazing production values, great cast doing its uniformly good job will get me to the screen for next episodes. Just hope they won't make "Westworld" into another "Lost" during its run (as much as i loved the first season of that one, they ruined the series later). Great show so far.

Blood Father, 20 October 2016

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Blood Father" (2016) is a pretty damn good thriller staring Mel Gibson. He is very good here, it was so good to see this great screen presence actor in his good form. Erin Moriarty was also pretty good as the daughter, and she wasn't just a "damsel in distress".

The plot of the film is pretty straightforward, and it is not really complex or deep on estranged "father / daughter" relationship. There are some bloody scenes, and the film earns its R rating, it looks and feels gritty. On the other hand i didn't really get some scenes in not synchronized continuity - they didn't really add nothing and if it was just a style to show things a bit differently - what was the point?

Overall, "Blood Father" is a good thriller for those who like R rated gritty thriller. It has great central character, played by one of my favorites Mel Gibson. While the movie doesn't go deep in it plot or messages, it if good for what it is - a gritty and bloody thriller.

OK flick, 18 October 2016

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping" (2016) is kinda OK and not a bad attempt to mock some current days superstars (J.Bieber especially). It is a not bad comedy and ... nothing more. As the story itself you probably have seen many times in better movies then this, this one has many famous superstars cameos, some a bit extended. Music is lame, as it was targeted to be (but that is the kind of music that is unfortunately dominates today's TOPs.

Overall, "Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping" is a pretty OK flick for one evening with some friends and maybe some light alcohol involved. Don't' take it to seriously, its OK flick for seeing it once.
