The Best Marvel Movie Yet, 18 December 2014
10/10

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" (2014) is simply the best Marvel movie yet. I saw them all, and honestly, i wasn't so dragged into a simple joy of watching a Marvel universe picture before. This one has it all and beyond. The script is so good, so funny, so not to serious about itself that it's a joy to simply listen to a characters, and what a great characters there are. Directed wonderfully by James Gunn, it's a winner from start to finish. The visuals are superb (sure Oscar nominee), the soundtrack is excellent, acting settings and all clicks on every cylinder. What is unusual for big budget flick, is that is not takes itself serious, and this is why we can't help of watching it with wonder - it's very original. MIchael Bay should watch this movie as an example and learn of how big budget movies should be made in the first place.

Overall, whether you are Marvel fan or not, do your self a favor and watch this picture with your friends and I guarantee you, you will have a truly entertaining movie evening.

Great action thriller, 17 December 2014

Greetings from Lithuania.

"The Equalizer" (2014) is a very well made action thriller. Acting was solid, directing, script are the first rate. The picture is superbly paced - at 2 hours running time it never drags or gets boring. The movie kinda surprised me whit it's plot, i guest it the other way around at the beginning of the film, but i was surprised. It's R rated so don't be surprised that it's violence is on screen - it would have been impossible for this movie to have other more soft rating - violence (but not gore) perfectly fits this brutal, dark and gritty world.

Overall, "The Equalizer" is first rate picture that every action thriller fan should not be missed.

"Far Cry 4" is a must play VG to all who enjoyed previous installments. Is big, fun, bloody, entertaining, addictive and etc. I have beated in around 30 hours, and collected ~75 off all collectives. Quests are fun, not repetitive, and very addictive. The whole open world is a massive place, it filled with hundreds of collectibles, which can help you in you progress. This game also has interesting choice system, you will have a unique quests depending on what path you will choose. By the end, i couldn't pull the trigger, hope you will know what i mean.

Overall, if you like previous installment, definitely go check this one, it's huge, gorgeous, addictive and very entertaining.

If you like this genre, you should definitely see it, 14 December 2014

"As Above, So Below" (2014) isn't the most original horror flick, but it's a pretty damn good. Shot in "found footage" style, it takes us on very intriguing trip. This is a horror, mystery flick. I was on the edge of my seat during the entire picture, and that happens not very often.

The acting is good, especially by Perdita Weeks. Directing, script are solid. Combined with creepy catacombs (filmed in a real place), it's creepy and chilling flick that does what it promises. I won't going to spoil anything, just going to say, that the ending left me surprised. "

Overall, "As Above, So Below" isn't very original picture, but it does i's job of giving you some chills and keeping you involved during the whole picture. Very good flick.

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" (2014) is a nice fun action flick, which will be more enjoyable for young audiences. The action is fun, plot is basic and turtles themselves are fun to watch. Sure, don't expect deep stuff from this flick - probably the best way to enjoy it is to turn your brains off and enjoy the ride. I honestly can't say, which turtles were more fun or real, these digital (created by motion capture tech.) or created with the help of costumes back in 1990.

Overall, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" will give you what you expect - it's fun, easy, with action over the top - it's more of a live action cartoon than a serious movie, but it's fun to watch.

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" (2011) is a worst movie in this franchise. By saying this, i know i will get a lot of negative thoughts as this movie is ranked the best in the franchise. Please don't get me wrong – it's not a bad movie by any means. Actually, it's the most impressive looking movie if compared to other three. It has gorgeous visuals, top notch settings and heart stopping and jaw dropping sequence with the highest building. Do why do i ranked it weakest in the series? It because of couple of things. First, there is no dread, no suspense in this movie, except for one sequence i already mentioned. „Ghost Protocol" became more family friendly and it's not a coincidence that it was released during holiday season movie. Every good action movie has to got good villain, unfortunately „Ghost Protocol" lacks a true villain, there is only one Russian general who want's to destroy the world. Really? And i don't even wan't to go into a details of scene in which Tom Cruise enters Kremlin with fake mustache and worst accent ever – it's beyond sci-fi. During the whole movie i wasn't interested in plot or where did main characters were going next – it's how uninvolved this movie was.

Overall, "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" is impressively looking empty auctioneer without a simple treat – it's has cool looking „plastic" action scenes and no intrigue at all. This is the most disappointing chapter in of of the best action series ever.

Good, brutal, slow burning picture, 9 December 2014

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Only God Forgives" (2013) is a brutal and hardly forgettable movie. It's slow, it takes it's time and at the end it's more a character study then a thriller. The story here is very simple, i won't go into details. Acting is very good, Ryan Gosling is solid (but nothing special), it's Kristin Scott Thomas who steals every scene she is in - great performance. Vithaya Pansringarm creates one of the most brutal and unforgettable movie villains in a recent memory.

Overall, "Only God Forgives" is sure not your typical thriller. It's very slow burning movie, but it's very well paced - slow isn't weakness in this picture, it's how it was mean to be seen. Strong acting, good cinematography and very solid directing - combined with some shockingly brutal scenes - this movie is a one you will hardly forget soon in a good way.

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Predestination" (2014) is a surprising movie. First of all, i was hoping for some good time travel thriller, as these are rare lately, "Predestination" looked like it can be very good flick. After watching it, i can say that5 it left me somehow disappointed in overall delivery.

The craftsmanship of this movie is very good. Acting is especially solid by Sarah Snook, and as usual OK by Ethan Hawke. Directing, pacing of this movie are solid as well, as for running time 90 min i was engaging in a story. But after movie was over, i was disappointed in final experience. I love movies that surprises you. But this one left me more confused then surprised. The story is kinda original i you ask me, but i didn't get it by the end - well, i did get it, but it wasn't the most realistic time travel movie if you ask me, and this one, based on paradoxes is interesting, but overall i think it's just nonsense - that's just mine opinion.

Overall, "Predestination" is very well crafted and intriguing experience, but one that will leave you confused rather then satisfying.

Very good and honest picture, 7 December 2014

"A Beautiful Mind" (2001) is a must see picture to everyone who appreciates great quality dramas. Based on the life of John Nash, it tells a story of love, illness and life itself. Played magnificently by Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly, this is a superbly crafted movie, terrifically paced and very emotional and touching. R.Crowe should have won Oscar for this performance, as good as Denzel Washington was in "Training Day" - John Nash isn't Det. Alonzo Harris - these are very different movies, and i think that R.Crowe was a definite winner.

Nevertheless, "A Beautiful Mind" is beautiful movie, inspiring and touching. If somehow you missed it - you should definitely see it if you like great quality movies.

Greetings from Lithuania.

"The Maze Runner" (2014) is very well paced, directed and crafted motion picture. It's a very compelling sci-fi, which tells very interesting and involving story. Although the main structure of "The Maze Runner" will probably look familiar if you have seen more then 100 movies in your life, it's still expertly paced and done so you will be glued to your screen for the whole ride.

Overall, "The Maze Runner" is not to be missed one if you like sci-fi movies, which are good crafted and tells interesting stories. It's not revolutionary good, but it does a very good job for a one evening viewing. I will look forward for sequels.
