Great Movie, 18 October 2017
10/10

Greetings from Lithuania.

"The Grapes of Wrath" (1940) is a one powerful and heartbreaking movie. It tells a very simple story but does this in a great way. Its been a long time since i felt true sorry for people shown in this movie or more specific life that they had to endure during the time.

The craftsmanship of this movie is great - directing (amazing pacing for whole 2 h 8 min), involving and realistic writing as well as great acting. Best performance in this movie was hand down by Jane Darwell who played Ma. She glues the family together in its hardest time - literally i could seen my mom in her - this is a wonderful performance of a wonderful human.

Overall, "The Grapes of Wrath" left me heartbroken many times during its time. The most saddest things for me when watching a movie isn't when somebody cries - but its when a life tries to knock good and hard working people down on its knee. "The Grapes of Wrath" is a great movie.

Great Movie, 13 October 2017
10/10

Greetings from Lithuania.

First things first - i did like "Blade Runner 2049" (2017) more then i did the first movie, and that movie was a good one on entertainment level, and amazing on its theme and craftsmanship. That said, "Blade Runner 2049" is great movie, simply wonderful one. On almost every level.

Its impossible to distinguish on thing that makes this sequel great. Its the amazing cinematography by a legendary Roger Deakins to start with. It the great story and solid screenplay. Great acting by everyone involved, and great directing by a great Denis Villeneuve. Set design and special effects were simply... true - it literally takes you the place, not to mention amazing music by legendary Hans Zimmer. Take all these talent and result is very clearly seen.

Overall, "Blade Runner 2049" is simply a great movie, the one that in my opinion surprised the great original. Every single shot in this is movie is a thing to be seen and admired on biggest screen possible. Great movie.

Not bad movie for those who enjoy "these" kind of movies, 9 October 2017
7/10

Greetings from Lithuania.

"It Comes at Night" (2017) isn't really a much of a horror movie, sure if you think close of what we see in the movie - its a true terror for sure, but its not much of a horror movie at all. It plays more like a survival story, not very original one, far from best and far from worst. If you did enjoy movies like "Z for Zachariah" and other similar "survival" stories set in some sort of post-apocalypse world or were some unknown virus has broken or whatever - "It Comes at Night" works on that level, but its more of a psychological thriller then anything else.

Overall, i did enjoy "It Comes at Night" basically because i like "these" kind of small "survival" movies. Its far from best, but its not bad either. Performances were really solid and directing was pretty good. Its a very small and very slow movie so those who are looking for some big horror / thriller will probably be disappointed.

Very involving and superbly made movie, 8 October 2017

Greetings from Lithuania.

"What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?" (1962) was very involving movie. I was intrigued from first 15 min. till the last frame. Story was very interesting, script was involving and very well written. Directing by Robert Aldrich was great - at long running time 2 h 17 min i never lost my interest for this very well paced movie. Acting by two leads was great - loved both performances equally.

Overall, "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?" isn't really a horror movie as its genre description suggest. Yet its an intense drama / thriller as well as great character study movie. Great film overall.

To the Bone (2017/I)
Not bad movie, 1 October 2017
7/10

Greetings from Lithuania.

"To the Bone" (2017) is a pretty good movie that deals with people suffering from anorexia. Yet it doesn't go very deep on that subject matter, and that is pretty shame.

Acting was good by all involved, and although Keanu Reeves does not remind of doctor by any means in here, he is always a joy simply watch - he that screen presence.

Overall, "To the Bone" is a pretty good drama which at running time 1 h 40 min drags here and there but its a pretty involving movie to recommend it to see it on some boring evening.

Fresh and original take on the heist movie, 1 October 2017
9/10

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Baby Driver" (2017) does not have an original nor very fresh plot, but its the execution that makes this movie really work. While writing by Edgar Wright here and there wasn't very involving (but nevertheless very good overall), its directing were he truly shined with this movie. This film is heavily stylized, with superb music soundtrack. Music was very important to "Baby Driver" and they superbly implemented good songs into it. Acting here by everyone was solid, although no awards for acting will shine in here. And then there are few chase sequences - done so good! The first chase sequence simply puts to shame every Fast and Furious movie in this decade.

Overall, "Baby Driver" is a really good and fresh take on heist movies. While the plot isn't original, this sometimes very bold movie created situations like I've not seen in some time. Good movie overall.

The weakest episode of a great season, 26 September 2017
7/10

Greetings from Lithuania.

Wow, didn't expect so see such a weak episode of "Better Call Saul". Whats the most disappointing that it actually was closing episode of the season, season which was great in my opinion.

"Lantern" was just simply... boring. Probably the weakest episode yet. I read that it was first season ending of this show or BB that wasn't write by Vince Gilligan - this could have been the reason that this episode wasn't involving. Even the very ending did not moved me or anything, i just felt nothing.

Overall, season 3 of "Better Call Saul" was great, but not this particular episode overall. "Lantern" was without a doubt the most weak season ending i have seen in many, many moons unfortunately.

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Off Brand", 6 th episode of "Better Call Saul" delivers goods, as usual. All the things that makes this show impossible to resist are here: amazing writing, involving story, great characters, superb directing.

Overall, with only 4 episodes left in this great season 3, story is moving forward, and i'm confident that remaining episodes will deliver goods. As usual.

Great episode, 19 September 2017

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Sabrosito", 4 th episode of "Better Call Saul" superbly continuous great season 3 so far. More and more familiar faces emerge and its more and more interesting to watch how it is progressing.

Acting, writing, directing were top notch as usual. I liked how this season moves story forward much more faster then previous seasons did, and although i highly enjoyed both previous seasons, this one i think i a bit better so far.

Can't wait to see whats coming next.

Greetings from Lithuania.

"My Neighbor Totoro" (1988) is a one honest, not cynical and masterful movie. The story here is simple, yet superbly told. Never for a second was i bored nor involved into this movie.

Script was very good as well direction by a master of genre Hayao Miyazaki.

Overall, "My Neighbor Totoro" is just a joy to watch from the first minute. It has good story and great storytelling, you can't ask for more.
