Sherlock: The Six Thatchers (2017)
Sherlock was supposed to be good...what the heck happened
Well that was a long hour and a half. This episode started off interesting but tried to intertwine too many twists- yes it is possible to have too many twists- making the entire episode feel very clinched. The plot was made too complicated but with too simple of conclusions.
Since season three, Sherlock has turned into a mix of unnecessary special effects weaved with too many artistic cinematography and empty plot points. What happened to the original Sherlock from season 1 & 2? What happened to the well wrote stories?
I may not be able to finish this season. It is too great of a disappointment from where it started from.
Smart, brilliantly acted and witty
They should renew this show! It is smart and witty. The lecture scenes are very interesting way to start and conclude episodes. If you really take note in these scenes, you can actually learn quite a bit. It is like being in a fun lecture while having a case to solve. Eric McCormack is one of my favourite actors and does a superb in this show, super convincing. The addition of his schizophrenia hallucinations gives this show another edge and at times very comedic moments. I really wish it was picked up for another seasons, this is a really good show. The characters and cases have so much opportunity for further development.
I highly recommend this show. It is like Monk and Psych came together.
Super Entertaining with good acting from Olga & James Purefoy
I am surprised by the low reviews after watching this film. I expected a film full of clichés and bad acting, but what was delivered was quite entertaining. If you went into this filming wanting action packed scenes, thrilling chase scenes and just a lot of gun fights...you will be surely delighted. I found the relationship between the main antagonist and protagonist very refreshing. The sheer admiration that the antagonist made the film more interesting. I guess my rating could be a bit bias as I am a big Nikita (tv show) fan and this film reminded me very much of that. Anyways, if it's Friday night and you are looking for an action packed film to kick back to, this will not disappoint.
The Art of the Steal (2013)
A real gem! This film deserves much higher reviews!
The way the film was edited and shot with flashbacks and flash forwards intersecting the current storyline makes The Art of the Steal very engaging. Too many films nowadays throw together big names, action and crude humour without any substance. Art of the Steal managed to do a solid job focusing on the story while feeding the audience bits of information that will come together at the end.
The Art of the Steal is a mix of Ocean's Eleven series with Gambit and Incognito (1997).
Highly highly recommended
Little Miss Sunshine (2006)
a film almost everyone can relate to
I really enjoyed this film as I felt I could really relate to the characters. 'Little Miss Sunshine' did a great job on the portrayal of the different characters. I watched the film without watching any trailers or knowing about the plot line. This let me to better enjoy the film to a greater extent. Even though it did not win Oscar for best picture, Little Miss shine' still deserves mentioning. An easy plot line, but presents such a heart moving message (to me at least.)Everyone can have a different interpretation to film of course, so you be the judge. However I do highly recommend this film as it is my personal favourite.
