Star Trek (2009)
Best Star Trek movie I have seen
Went in to watch the movie on May 8, 2009 when it was released. Purchased tickets at 1pm for the next show at 3:55pm to make sure I could get in. Man was it worth it or what ? My kids an I loved the movie from start to finish. I loved all the characters except Uhuru's character. The new Kirk, Spock, Bones McCoy, Sulu, Chekov all were there in their new roles. The action was awesome. I really hope they can recover their 150 million in expenditure to produce more of Star Trek movies. Really hoping that they will continue Star Trek with new weekly serials. I would advise everyone to go and watch it in the movie theatres rather than waiting for the Blue Ray to come out.
Heroes: Chapter Eight 'Villains' (2008)
Heroes going downhill in Season 3
I used to be big fan of heroes. I used to love the suspense, fun and excitement. In each Season there was a story line that was understandable, but not predictable. Season 3 has been a big disappointment with Peter Petrelli's dad returning from the dead, Sylar becoming confused, everyone losing their powers to this old man. Just doesn't make a good story to follow anymore. All my friends have lost interest in Heroes. We're all now concentrating on Dexter, Supernatural and other cooler series. I think I can see this being the last Season of Heroes as it's boring now. I know there are some strong Heroes fans out there who will agree with me.
Extremely entertaining movie. Shame that it was not marketed.
Those who are unaware of external cultures are obviously not going to know about dragons and the orient. My family and I watched this movie and found it perfectly made. I don't see what there's not to like about this movie. It had the adventures, special affects, story and good acting that made it into a good movie. It is in the league with Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. I loved the action, the dragons, huge snakes, mighty machines, crashing planes, death and destruction. Shame that it didn't recover the money spent due to lack of or poor marketing. I would really recommend everyone to go and purchase the DVD. Give them as gifts to everyone. I am going to do the same.
Could have been a good movie if Directed by Spielberg
Movie starts of interesting. Builds up some hope that it's going to be a good movie. Then it keeps throwing the story off and does not join them back in proper pieces. I was expecting better acting from Ian McShane and Christopher Eccleston. Their dialogues were feelingless and meaningless. It is true what some others commented that the Director was trying to create a mix between The Fifth Element and Harry Potter and ended up with a very painful movie to watch. Had all the cool special affects. Whoever thought and planned this movie has wasted a lot of good money and potential. Don't know who to blame, the Director or the actors. I'll leave it up to the viewers decide.
Not as good as Quantum Leap
I watched 4 episodes of Journeyman. Kevin McKidd starts of with a German English/American accent. On the 4th episode I thought he was trying very hard to put up an American accent. Nothing personal against him. He could have either spoken with an English accent or they could have chosen a real American actor to do the show. The show lacked the enthusiasm and excitement of Quantum Leap. There is no continuity nor relevance to each of the episodes. I used to enjoy watching Quantum Leap and looked forward to every episode. In this case it is so boring that I needed coffee breaks in between. I don't see the point in Kevin McKidd (Dan Vassar)meeting up with Livia Beale (Moon Bloodgood)when he travels back in time. The show does not make sense. I am not watching any more episodes. What a waste of time.
Oliver Twist (2005)
Excellent Movie. Shame about the turn out. Go see it.
This movie surprised me, not by the quality of its story, which one can expect from Charles Dickens, but by the violent, lusty primal quality of the story. This is no dry musty tome, but a vital movie that arouses both passion and intellect which tingles your senses. In the movie there are some of the major characters in the realm of fiction; Fagin and his gang of child thieves, including the Artful Dodger. Nancy, the proverbial hooker with a heart of gold. Master Charles Bates (was this a pun even then?) Bad Bill Sikes, who shows the darker edge to all of this dangerous fun, and the innocent & pure Oliver Twist, who is the very definition of nature over nurture.
A great movie, just like the book. I highly recommend it.
It's a shame that not many people went to see it. Shows how superficial people have become. They'd much rather go to a ski-fi or violent movie with lots of explosions and murders. People, go buy the video. OK. What's wrong with you ?
No Entry (2005)
Laugh all the way
I loved the movie. I became ill from laughing so much. Very simple, no violence and funny plot. I would highly recommend to everyone. All the girls were gorgeous ! Loved their clothes. Some of the scenes in the songs are a bit on the revealing side. Personally this is not a movie for young children. The actors and actresses did a very good job. There was not a single scene that I found unprofessional. Only complaint with the movie was the songs were awful. Anu Malik could have done a better job with the song writing and music. Anu, please don't use pathetic, partial English lyrics. It's so embarrassing to see them being sung in front of Western audiences. "Just Love Me" !! Come on Anu ! The male singer was awful and should never sing. CAST: Anil Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Celina Jaitley, Esha Deol,Fardeen Khan, Lara Dutta, Salman Khan
Transporter 2 (2005)
Disappointing compared to Transporter 1
I don't blame Jason Statham at all. He performed A1 as usual. It was not 'raw' like Transporter 1. Transporter 2 was too commercialised in the fear to win American audience but failed totally. It was pretty fake and the story was too Americanised. I would have preferred it to be Continental like the 1st version. Jason (Frank) gave his best but due to poor script and story he ended up looking like a 2nd rate actor. The action was good but the Martial Arts was lacking the originality of the 1st version. Loved the car though. Getting involved with a kid was pathetic and sloppy. I hope they come out with Transporter 3 with as original story and direction as Transporter 1. I would also like to see Jason as the new James Bond. Good luck to this new actor. Love his fighting style and mucsles.
