A Delightful Holiday Film!, 27 November 2004

I felt that this was a fun holiday movie, and I am surprised to see such negative reviews about it. I thought it was good, funny and followed the book, Skipping Christmas, quite well. Tim Allen was great, and there were a lot of laughs in the movie theater. The acting was good, and the movie ended on a touching note. I do wonder, though, why it was not named, Skipping Christmas, as I think that would have been a more fitting title. There was at least one blunder that I caught toward the beginning, and that was where the wife was trying to explain to her girlfriends that her and her husband were skipping Christmas that year and then suddenly, the girlfriends are asking her about the trip they are planning, when the trip was never mentioned to them. All in all, if you want to watch a good, fairly clean, and funny holiday movie, I recommend this one.
