Not MIA MAYA again!
30 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of these movies that I could seriously have avoided if only I knew how bad it is.

There are so many problems with it.

Maya again: that poor actress is always called Mia on every movies she makes about AI?

The wig Allison Janney wears is unconvincing, is too short and at times her sweaty make up is not great.

This is a movie where AI is taking over humans, but yet in a Tibetan convent to alert other AI they use a church bell: really!! Computers alerted by a church bell?

Lots of dying AI computer machines. Lots of killing in this movie but there isn't much blood involved, so it is safe to watch!

Also, in the middle of the movie - after killing hundreds of humans and hundreds of AI computers - one character suggested not to go because is dangerous, at that point dangerous is just a superfluous word: who writes these scripts?

The whole movie is just to get to the end to see an impossible spaceship being destroyed by a human and not by AI.

The whole idea, script and timing is so unconvincing.

This movie plot is for students needing time to kill and for no-one-else.

Too long
26 February 2023
The movie is extending far too much, they could cut this story short of at least one hour. The music is ok but feels like a bad carbon copy of La La Land - I know same director. It is an interesting, captivating movie that wants to narrate two Hollywood characters. But these long pauses on Brad Pitt's face are so hard to bear, particularly if you aren't a massing fan. Also you don't like to see a massive face on the screen for that long and he is motionless, with hardly any expression. The opening sequence, and few others scattered in the movie are attention grabbers but these don't carry on for the rest of the movie. I would add that stories celebrating drug addicts have almost saturated our interest and we should find better ones.

Din't age well
30 January 2021
Watching all Absolutely Fabulous in 2021 for the first time (from pilot to movie) and this show hasn't aged well. Do not bother, you will be extremely disappointed. It is dated, the jokes aren't funny and haven't survived the test and taste of time. God knows how much money they've spent on this, that much is clear, but money don't buy you longevity.

Sound!
11 July 2020
What a great movie, but the sound is awful! There is great action and good acting. Lots of suspense and grabs you from the begin. But the sound, can hardly hear anything at all!

Misleading advertising
23 February 2020
This movie should be marketed at journalists as it is the story of an Esquire article taking life. Very good acting, great story, fabulous cast. I'm glad I've seen it, but the advertisements was wrong and misleading.

Birds
15 February 2020
Very good movie over all. Some music and songs are predictable but can fits into the whole story. One comment about the sound: the birds' chirping in the cemetery's visit where and there are no birds in sight specially because a wide angle usage... they need to edit that!

Feels like being in a video game
20 January 2020
Another movie that promote violence and weapons. It should be in the same category of the Marvel's: the way it is filmed and actioned. It is for those who love video games, some of the renderings are pathetically designed for certain demographics. Yes it is a war movie and the sentiments are good, unfortunately the over emphasis on blood and weapons don't justify the euphoria around it.

Hilarity
30 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This is an extreme dramatic movie. Towards the end there was a rough fight between the two main characters but I could only see Helen Mirren mounting Ian McAllen and it reminded me of a drag queen fight! I was laughing sooooo joyfully. Thank god the cinema wasn't full!!! 😂😂 Half hour later I'm still giggling..

Great story
4 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
If you don't know much about Freddy Mercury you will enjoy this movie a lot; I did. But it is not the real life of Freddy Mercury. This is a fantastic and fantisied look at his life - where all is good. Clearly this story can't be his real life and emotions, being gay and HIV+ in the time he lived it must have been hell and that don't transpire at all in the movie.

Perfect

This is a great winter movie. The costumes and colours are beautiful. Apart from Helen Miren wig that looks clearly attached - a better job could have been done with the makeup.

Questionable
4 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I had great expectations for this movie and I was truly disappointed. Wasted time watching it. The story don't make sense and I was waiting for some spectacular endings but didn't happen. Don't wast time watching it. It is called Mirai but the story is about his brother, not her!

Madonna
27 April 2018
Great episode. Great dialogues. The best bit is the reference to Madonna and Like a Virgin. Madonna never had big hair in the eighties but Cindy Lauper's did it.
