Yoda: "About it tell me!"
Hello, my name is Mithrandir...and I'm a Lost-aholic.
You know when something is not very good for you, but you can't help it, you love it anyway? That's how I feel about "Lost." The entire concept is very clique...a crash on a desert island, trying to survive, etc....but even more so is the cast! The convict, the good doctor, the possible terrorist, the redneck who is suspicious of the "terrorist," the comedic relief, the recently acquainted dad and his son, and of course the dog, etc etc!!! Grrr~ I know I shouldn't like this show so much, but I can't help it, I do.
I am officially addicted to it. Why though? Well, for every thing that may seem so cheesy and repetitive within the film industry, there are just as many great things shown in "Lost" as well. 1.) Dom Monaghan. Clearly he has grown as an actor. From a hobbit to this crack addict (I think he's on crack...), he shows an extensive amount of acting potential, and you gotta respect that. His character, Charlie, is indeed well developed and wonderfully executed. 2.) An Heir of Mystery...This show has tons of that! The character Locke brings most of this in, as well as the radio signal the group heard from a French woman that has been playing for 16 years (I believe). To top it off, they found a polar bear in the jungle! These odd effects truly do interest me more than the plot itself. 3.) Sawyer!! The best thing about the show is Sawyer. Getting former model Josh Holloway was a great step for JJ Abrams and the crew. I think that this will be Holloway's break out role in the industry, defining him as a talented actor and Hollywood hunk. (I love him- he's so fine and he's such a "bad boy!")
Overall, I really do love the show, and I hope that the story line will develop into something completely unpredictable and exciting. Producers: Keep it up! ABC: Good decision! Dom: Wow! Josh: I love you.
