Rebooting and Recasting the Star Wars Original Trilogy
a list of 10 people
Relating to my previous list on recasting the prequel trilogy, developing a recast for the sequel trilogy is more thought provoking because the movies are older and easier to envision with a younger cast. Since the sequel trilogy is significantly older than the prequels, watching them feels a bit outdated. This is not to offend the loyal fans; the sequel trilogy has it's place in film history but at the same time like many franchises, it might be worth a reboot. Aside from Yoda and Darth Vader, the list contains primarily live action roles. The below cast choices are based solely on personal opinion.
Rebooting and Recasting the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy
a list of 13 people
With J.J. Abrams' upcoming Star Wars film well underway, it would be fun to see who might be cast in a Star Wars reboot. Keeping much of the same story, plot, setting, and characters, use a new cast to create a new trilogy of films. This is not to say the six films created by George Lucas were bad in any way but the franchise (like all others) is definitely in need of a fresh interpretation; particularly since the prequel trilogy turned out to be below expectations. Re-interpreting Star Wars can be done numerous ways, but one way would be to picture it in a darker tone, similar to all the recent reboots like Batman (Nolan's trilogy), X-Men: First Class, and The Amazing Spider-Man. The below cast does not include every single character by any stretch of the imagination and intentionally excludes characters who are portrayed through CGI (with the exception of Master Yoda) and actors in heavy makeup or prosthetics. My intention is not to offend any part of the fan base and created list is based solely on opinion.
