I have a lovely woman in my life Sarah
My likes are people who are honest and caring, those who respect everyone no matter who they are. Yeah i am a lesbian, but I do like and respect guys. I just dont date them.
I dislike racism, homophobia, and any form of intolerance. We are ONE RACE, Human. we all share one planet, so lets all try and get along ok.
Imagine Me & You (2005)
Brilliant Romantic Comedy (Spoilers so beware)
Saw this film when it came out in Toronto and fell in love with it, its a fun and heartwarming romantic comedy from the UK the country that excels at the romantic comedy genre.
The film is just brilliant, and the cast work so well together. Piper and Lena have amazing chemistry on screen and there performances are so real. As a lesbian myself its wonderful to see a romantic comedy with a really happy ending for everyone.
Matthew Goode is a fab actor and I really felt sorry for him, but he gets a nice surprise at the end. (Watch just after the credits role to see why) Anthony Stewart Head was perfect as Rachels dad, and gave us some of the most hilarious moments. Boo Jackson was great as H and stole the scenes every time she appeared.
I've lost count of the times myself and my wife have seen this movie, we love it so much. Everyone i know who has seen it loves this film, its a good family movie and proves love isn't always straight forward. I met my wife and fell in love with her instantly, so I really identify with this movie.
If you want to see a fun comedy with a lovely sweet romance, look no further than Imagine me and You.
Tara and Sara
Battlestar Galactica (2004)
Best Sci Fi Series for a long time.
I love sci fi but recently we have had little to enjoy.
Battlestar Galatica has in my mind taken over as one of the best and most original series on Television. The story lines are just first class and the characters are first rate. I don't remember the original series (I wasn't born when it came out), but i did recently check it out, sorry but this newer up to date show is far better. Great acting and special effects.
This show will succeed because like Babylon 5 it gets mean and plays dirty. Shows like Pegasus which shows Admiral Cain as a flawed leader, and the simply brilliant 33, a show which really upped the tension.
It's got a great cast, and provided they keep it going with shows like 33, Pegasus, Kobal's Last Gleaming and Resurrection Ship it will succeed where many fail.
I love it Tara
The Transformers: The Movie (1986)
Good action cartoon with a story and some memorable lines
I am not what you call a fan of cartoons and this is a boys cartoon really. But my girlfriend Sara's brother is a a huge fan and still is today. I happened to watch it and for a cartoon I was very impressed, the story was good, and shocking with the deaths of several main characters.
Its a very violent film to if you watch just how many get shot, dismember or just generally crunched. The death of the Autobot leader Optimus Prime was very sad and did bring a tear to my eye. If you like action cartoons and a good story this movie wont let you down. This is one girl who gives Transformers the Movie a big thumbs up.
Its nearly 20 years old but to be honest it still looks pretty good and the animation is smooth and holds up well.
Soundtrack well a few good tracks, but nothing too special. Best thing about this movie, the lines some of them really stick in your mind and are very funny at times. Confess that this is the first cartoon I've seen that has some pretty fun quotes.
"Ive got better things to do tonight than die".
Frighting window on what is coming
Everyone goes on about horror movies being scary, sorry but this really is scary, why because one its going to happen for real.
The BBC have really produced a TV movie that is stunning and a great drama. The acting feels real and honest and you truly believe them. From the opening scenes as you see the peaceful park in its natural beauty, the warning signs, and then at the end of part one, the eruption begins, the opening blast of the eruption was enough to make me shiver with fear. Why because its only a matter of time before either Yellowstone or another super volcano erupts sending humanity to the brink of chaos.
Part 2 was very good but felt rushed, I did feel sad at the loss of the two vulcanologist's who where killed in the pyroclastic flow. (Far more real than Dante's Peak when they survived it). The girl in charge of FEMA was good too, her reactions of horror at the scale of the eruption felt so real and believable.
The effects of the eruption on north America where realistic and frightening to behold. Huge loss of life, thousands of miles covered in ash. FEMA appeared helpless in the face of the eruption and to be honest this would be the case, how can you prepare for something as huge as a super eruption. We are not capable of dealing with something so vast like this. I feel a 3rd part could have shown the aftereffects on the rest of the world, the global climate change caused by the huge eruption would have really made this movie complete.
Huge thanks to the BBC for making a superb drama that is a chilling forecast of an event that will one day reshape the human race and the planet.
The Day After Tomorrow (2004)
I have watched this film a few times now and the more I watch it the more I enjoy it. Roland Emmerich has a talent for making movies that are great fun and pure enjoyment to watch. I admit the plot has a few weak points but it really grips you all the way through.
The special effects however are nothing short of stunning, and the best this is they look so real, the opening scenes of the ice flow looked perfect. I thought they where real till I watched the DVD special features. Too often movies with heavy CGI use look fake (see Star Wars ep 1 and 2), but this film is totally convincing, the CGI is flawless, (see the flooding of NYC and the opening titles for proof).
Best Character, Sam Hall, good actor and has at least the best lines,
Jaw Dropping moment, the Tsunami hitting New York
Cheesy moment, the end speech (he soon changed his tune)
Over all rating 9 , aside from thin plot, this film has everything to entertain you. Watch it and enjoy it.
Global warming is a problem and this film highlights that, we all need to try a little harder to make care of the planet we all live on. Maybe the US could look a little harder at this one.
