Average episode with an above-average villain.
The story follows the tragic and conflicted Mr. Freeze in his second appearance in the series. After being sprung out of Arkham, Mr. Freeze is recruited by Billionaire Grant Walker to aid him in fulfilling his life-long vision. You might say that Mr. Walker is a cross between Walt Disney and Karl Stromberg, the villain in "The Spy Who Loved Me". At first, Mr. Freeze rejects his proposal, but is soon goaded into helping Walker with his request after being offered a gift he cannot refuse.
I enjoy Mr. Freeze stories and love the character as interpreted by the series. The details surrounding his mistakes and tragedy makes you feel empathy and you find yourself pulling for him to find redemption. It gives him some nice character depth as opposed to other Batman villains who follow the traditional "bad guy" persona.
However, this episode is average at best. 22 Minutes is not enough time to adequately develop the plot and I found it to be rushed at times. There was some good, short dialogue concerning an Utopian Society vs. Free Will, and of course Mr. Freeze always carries every scene he is in. I just wish they had produced more episodes about him.
Scenes from a Bar (1998)
A Halloween Porn Film?
Silly but true. "Scenes from a Bar" actually takes place on Halloween. But, before you think this is some kind of psycho-slasher erotic thriller, wait and check it out.
Kobe Tai and Marc Davis are a happily married couple who likes to role-play at bars. On Halloween they both dress up, agree to some rules, bang each other, and then go out. At the bar, things take a different turn than what was expected.
Memeorable "scenes" would be the reverse three-way in a convertible. T. T. boy is dressed as the bride, Allyssa Allure is dressed as the groom, and Katie Gold is the flower girl. It's scenes like these that keep things interesting, not to mention the action is pretty hot. Especially in reference to Caressa Savage and Johnni Black (a girl, mind you). This girl-girl romp on a pool table. Of course, we expect no less from Caressa, the savage that she is when she gets a hold of a woman. Oh, and Kobe Tai watches and does herself through the whole thing.
Anthony Crane, in a non-sex role, does a great acting job as the quirky narrator and guide through the evening at the bar. Not a bad skin flick and it earns 8 out of 10.
The Glass Cage (1998)
A hallmark of good porn
This is what porn should be (and could be given the chance). Its amazing what decent acting, a unique perspective, and a good plot-twist can do for a skin flick. Variety and invention are the spice of smut.
The story goes that Scott (Vince Voyeur) makes a bet with his snooty-snobby rival Pierce (Mike Horner) that involves Scott going one whole year without getting an erection. He would be locked up in a Glass cage and monitored under surveillance the whole time. Oh, and 1 Million dollars is at stake.
Pierce, being the lowlife that he is, undertakes several endeavors to encourage Scott's libido into performing its natural function (thereby winning the bet). This is done mostly by getting other people to hump each other silly in front of Scott's Glass chamber - while he can do nothing but watch, And wait.
Again, what makes this sex better than most other sex out there is the x-factor, the extra ingredient while we watch. We know that the purpose for the action is for Scott's arousal and therefore his loss. It adds an element of suspense that makes it more exciting. Luckily for us, we are under no such arrangment to control our impulses so we are free to (ahem) loosen the pants a bit.
The last two scenes are particularly good, with the 4-way dream sequence with Scott, Kobe Tai, Inari Vachs and T. J. Hart really taking the cake. And I mean, this is one of my favorite porn scenes of all time, folks. The last scene, an all-out orgy, will finish you off completely.
The end is not what you expect! Check out one of the best porn flicks ever made.
Love Doll Lucy 2 (1994)
Low-rate budget-conscious girl-bang
I hunted for years for this film, and what I got didn't live up to the hype it made when it first came out (that means you, Hustler!).
Love Doll Lucy 2 is basically Gonzo disguised as a feature film with a storyline. It takes more for a film to have a plot than just putting words on the screen like (3 days later) or (1 hour later) at the beginning of each scene. Only about half the girls are attractive. (I do not find tattoos covering the right side of a woman's body sexy), and the action is low-rate, over-lighted, overacted stuff. All shot in the same deluxe hotel suite and a limo.
So why give it a five? Well, the last scene (albiet the one the sells the movie) is an all-girl lick-fest involving several women covered in vegetable oil (no pun intended). Also includes some playing with toys. Not a bad way to end a movie. In fact, maybe all movies should end with an orgy of women covered in oil. It would make abortions like "Titanic" and "Farenheit 911" actually worth the hype that was given to them.
Xtreme Janine (1998)
Vivid's take on the violation series...
This film seemed to be made a little ahead of its' time. The reality TV craze didn't seem to hit until the new millennium, and now we can't wait to be rid of it. But, I guess you can argue that porn has always been reality TV, without the prime-time hoopla and ratings wars.
Extreme Janine is for those who like hardcore girl on girl group sex, with some S&M mixed in. It sounds extreme (thus the title) and for the most part, it is. It is not a typical Vivid feature. The film is about Janine conducting an open audition for girls to fulfill one of her fantasies - being dominated and gangbanged by a group of women.
The title states that it is a 12 girl orgy, but it is really a bakers dozen, split in two. The movie begins with Janine conducting interviews with several known and unknown porn starlets on a casting couch. The girls are asked all kinds of questions and the feel and look of it is very candid. Indeed, this is not scripted. The footage here is real and the girls are not guaranteed a spot in the film. Many of them do not make the cut. If this sounds like a "fast-forward", be patient, because while Janine is interviewing, the lovely Alexandra Silk casually fondles and fingers her way around the girls as they answer questions. Some of the action here gets really hot, with Janine doing herself at times.
After a few rounds of interviews (which are short and segmented, so as not to get boring), we begin with the first orgy scene in a dungeon. No spoilers here, but I have to say if you like spanking, anal, and toys, then this is your scene to lube up. Of course, the crescendo to this is that Janine gets covered in cream, wax, and God knows what else, getting gang-banged and abused to her delight.
After this we go in for another round of interviews followed by another orgy scene with Janine doing a bit of the dominating at first and eventually ending up on the receiving end by a different group of willing participants - all girls.
My only critiques of the film is that it seemed to cut off rather awkward at the end. The first orgy was better, thus it should have been saved for last. I think this movie is ripe to become a series, considering the success of the "Vioation" series by Jim Powers.
Wet and Messy Big Boobs (2003)
Food Fetish Fun
Food and Sex, two things that humanity needs in order to survive. In this case, they are blended with perhaps the most popular part of the female anatomy. Not that this hasn't been done before. But it is doubtful if you would see the kind of action at a Hooters restaurant that you see here.
The breakdown is four scenes involving one busty woman spreading some sort of messy, gooey substance all over their boobs (naturally), as well as the rest of their body. The first scene is Chocolate sauce, the second scene is all about whipped cream, the third scene utilizes some sort of green syrup, and for the films' finale - orange sherbet. They then proceed to boink a very willing guy while at the same time making a huge mess all over themselves, and the backyard they were in.
If it sounds primitive, it is. And that is what makes it erotic and fun. The move delivers what it promises (a rare feature for adult movies, that) and all the girls end up wet and messy. Some even get hosed off at the end. Olivia's scene is very erotic because she had so much fun with the sherbet, laughing and sliding all over the place with orange sherbet all over her.
The favorite scene here is with Holly Body, a very voluptuous brunette whose mounds demand at least 3 cans of whipped cream to finish the job. If you like the idea of food and sex, then this is your thing. If you have never watched it before, then it might make you a fan.
Cat & Mouse (1992)
One of Jeanna's favorites
Jeanna Fine has stated that this is one of her most favorite films she has made to date. That in itself is what led me to it. Jeanna plays a woman who gets off making obscene phone calls to men. In this case, Scott Irish is their victim after he receives one such phone call and it turns him on, so he listens. Because of this, both Jeanna and her girlfriend Brandy Alexander decided to stalk Scott and come over to his house uninvited.
What makes this movie good is suspense. You are kept guessing how the characters will react to both Jeanne and Brandy's advances. In most porn films the characters are usually half-undressed and willing to get it on with anyone and everyone. Not so here. Throughout the whole movie, until the last scene involving two married couples with Jeanne and Brandy, I wasn't sure how the characters would react to their advances. It makes the action even more arousing, when you aren't' sure who is a "sure thing" and who might say no. Plus, Jeanne is again at her best here with her talent for erotic, dirty talk that always gets me going.
The only critique I have is that it seemed to be a bit short. Maybe that's why they made the sequel?
Gross Out (1990)
Shallow, Jr. High humor....but still funny
This Looks more like a film project for college. The cover doesn't tell you any of the story, obviously because there is not much there. The plot centers on a disgusting, demented, wealthy mother of three adult children telling them that the only way they will get her inheritance of 28 million is if they make a gross, disgusting movie so bad it would make her vomit. This is hard to do based on the fact that she herself is the epitome of obscene. The three kids team together to make a movie, putting in all kinds of sick filth you can imagine (or not imagine).
The only reason I am giving it a 3 is for some of the more comedic moments, like with the character of Rochester or the mom. Overall the movie is really bad, with low budget effects and obscene disgusting sexual and potty humor/gags. The film really is about grossing you out in one way or another, however it tends to fall short of that with a low budget. Maybe one or two parts I found disgusting, nothing as serious as for me to vomit.
I didn't really find myself grossed out as much as I found myself seeing through the obvious special effects. Rent it and watch it (don't buy it) so you can say that you did.
