Q-Force (2021)
brilliant and funny
First episode was too much setup from ep2 on couldn't stop watching. Absolutely brilliant, funny, lively. Stands up to the best of archer and then some. Really hope it gets renewed. One of the few smart and truly funny shows out these days, if not the only one.
Killing Eve: Just Dunk Me (2022)
profoundly bad and uninspired (just like S3)
Incredibly dull. Barely any dialogue or action. No hooks, no emotion, no point to anything. The few lines spoken are as banal and lazy as they come. Better off rewatching the first two seasons, both of which were brilliant. Sad to see an incredible show made unwatchable by obscenely poor writing.
Angèle (2021)
adore angèle but this was underwhelming
Love angèle and great to see some footage of her working on music and living life. Def relate to the feeling of not knowing who you are and feel for her life being turned into a circus. As for the film itself, it's an overindulgent promo piece that should have been 15-20 mins. Bino in BTI days said more in a handful of hotel notes. It's also a bit too woke, winey, pandering and virtue signaling. Literally every girl i know is bi - like yeah and what? Don't know if it's a cultural thing but in the US, UK, Russia ppl would just roll their eyes. Not to take away from angele's experience but this will not age well. Seeking validation from others is a bad look. Finally, the film doesn't have much in common w angele's amazing music videos. Again, love angèle but never made to the end of this. Ultimately feeds the same machine that stole angèle's basic human experience. I would have much rather just watched angèle working in a studio or performing. Leaving this for algos and studio execs to discourage them from making artists we love do cringe things.
Designated Survivor (2016)
Not west wing, but not bad
Predictable political and national security tropes, but keeps you engaged and going to the next episode. Doesn't have sorkin's nuance and elegance, but generally well-done.

Kärlek & anarki (2020)
Zero depth
Zero depth, tired subjects, nothing even remotely moving or funny.
Emily in Paris (2020)
mediocre at best, unimaginative and full of clichés
The show could have been cute. but it's wildly unoriginal and hopelessly dated. it doubles down on every worn-out trope and cliche about the french (and to a lesser extent, americans). feels like a throwback to the vanilla monoculture days before internet came around. complete lack of imagination, introspection, or nuance.
Devs (2020)
Could have been brilliant, Sonoya Mizuno is amazing as a lead. But impossibly slow and occasionally cringe
Love Alex Garland, liked Devs, but incredibly slow, even the dialogue. Had to keep fast forwarding. Soundtrack is over-the-top dramatic in a way that's a bit cringe. The storyline and and ideas are great, well-developed, well-executed. Brilliant acting / direction / camera work. Sonoya Mizuno is absolutely incredible in it. All actors, really. Just should have been 3 episodes or a feature.
Killing Eve: Meetings Have Biscuits (2020)
another episode with cringiest dialogue
Just as bad as the first two. Fast forwarded through the first 20 mins just to watch jodie comer scenes. but in the end just couldn't do it. loved this show too much to watch what it has become.
Killing Eve: Management Sucks (2020)
another absolutely mediocre episode - Killing Eve is ruined
This is insane. i loved loved loved killing eve. Was hoping it would pick up after the absolute disaster that was the first episode. seems to be only getting worse. The writing is truly awful. There is no story, no hooks, no snappy dialogue. A middle-schooler could do better for a class assignment. Camera-work likewise subpar. So is color-grading. And who decided to cast a 40-yr old as uni student. Just ads insult to the injury. No idea where the good ratings are coming from - have to be bots. This is truly sad.
Killing Eve: Slowly Slowly Catchy Monkey (2020)
awful writing, ruined an amazing show
Killing Eve was easily my favorite show probably ever. Was incredibly excited about the third season. and it's easily the biggest letdown. It's slow, writing is pedestrian at best, stories are going absolutely nowhere at a glacial pace. even color grading is off. the only reason for any stars at all are the amazing actors. They deserve better material.
Give Me Future: Major Lazer in Cuba (2017)
LOVED THIS!
This is one of the most beautiful and inspiring films I've seen in a while. Cuba is shot beautifully, but most importantly, it captures the amazing energy and joy of the cuban youth. As a musician, music is a hard and long slog. Having films like this is a reminder why I'm doing what I do. And a huge inspiration. Thank you Diplo, Walshy & Jillionaire, as well as the team that made the film.
The Big Sick (2017)
beautiful story, perfectly executed!
Not big on love, or romance, human stories, or movies about it, but this was truly wonderful in every sense of the word. Both Kumail and Zoe absolutely nailed it, the writing was engaging, pace was just right with no dead air. All around beautiful in its simplicity and charm.
