Funnier Every time I Watch It
Boomerang is one of those Eddie Murphy Classics. It's a story about a Womanizing man (Eddie Murphy) who meets his match (Robin Givins), and gets a taste of his own medicine.
I loved the idea of showing this scenario with affluent young black executives instead of the stereotypic ghetto love atmosphere white America likes to see us in. Black Executives do exist in record numbers (just had to throw that in).
This movie becomes funnier every time I watch it. That Bang Bang Bang scene is the funniest thing ever but there were big laughs through out the entire movie. Eddie did a great job on this one.
Madea's Class Reunion (2003)
The Best of Tyler Perry
I have watched all of the Tyler Perry plays but Madea's class reunion surpasses them all, so far. Tyler is a genius and he has been an underground play write for too long. I'm very happy he is gaining national recognition outside of the black community.
The play takes place in a hotel where Madea's reunion will be held. It is a story of forgiveness and reconciliation. Although Madea (in all of her plays) smokes weed, cusses and is packing a pistol, she teaches that we don't need to harbor unnecessary resentment toward the ones that hurt us. Forgiveness is for yourself not the people that did you dirty.
Can't wait to see Madea goes to Jail.
Hide and Seek (2005)
One of the Best Horror Movies of the Year!!!
I'm a big horror movie fan and this film was spectacular. I don't know what movie some of the others were watching (those that posted negative comments about this movie) but Hide and Seek ranks up there with the best. The movie is suspenseful and scary and has a great plot. It reminds me a lot of M. Night Shamalans(Sp) work. If I didn't know better I would have peg him as the director.
The only disappointment was that they didn't incorporate the neighbors as much as they could have. There was a story there and I would have explored it if I were directing.
