Dalziel and Pascoe (1996–2007)

Better than Midsomer Murders
1 September 2007
We are in the middle of season 7 at the moment in Sweden, and I've been watching it since season 4. And I must say that I've liked what I've seen so far. Every summer they show Midsomer Murders on Swedish television, and I USED to enjoy that show until I found this masterpiece. Here the characters and environments are more realistic, the plots are more complex and interesting, and the endings are not alway crystal clear, which, for the thriller-interested viewer, is quite satisfying. The ongoing Dalziel-Pascoe relationship is probably the best in its genre, and Dalziel's one-liners sometimes make you laugh your head off! I hope they will continue to show Dalziel and Pascoe in Sweden, although I don't think it's well known here. It's as good as Frost, and much better than the latest seasons of Midsomer Murders. UK can certainly make my evenings a lot more fun.

The show that makes you dream about Australia...
26 August 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I followed the first 3-4 seasons quiet intensively and really enjoyed the Claire/Peter/Alex and Nick/Tess/Sally intrigues together with other memorable characters like Becky, Brick and Craig. Then Stevie replaced Claire, and Dave and Kate were made regulars, and I actually started to feel a little indifferent about the series since so much changed under a short period of time. I missed main parts of season 5 before I started watching it regularly again in the start of season 6, and even if I've missed out on season 5, it was easy to catch up, and I felt myself being involved again. And I liked it :) Okay, I miss the "original" cast, but the new actors/actresses are really good replacements. It's not surprising it's one the most famous TV-series of Australia. The scenery is fantastic, the plots and intrigues are excellent, although some episodes lack the usual intensity, and it's fun to watch! Unfortunately some characters left the show (for good?) in the beginning of season 6, and there's been rumours that other main characters will disappear later on, but right now, in the middle of season 6, I love it! I just hope they manage to keep the plots and characters together, and keep it interesting and fun, the trademarks of this fantastic TV-show!
