Boston Legal (2004)
My heart scored one!
Just when here in Mexico I did catch just a glimpse of "The Practice" in its final seasons, and I learned it was canceled, just when I felt sorry because I loved the characters of Alan Shore and Denny Crane, I couldn't help but think "Gee, those buddies deserve a show of their own!" and voilà! I saw that Boston Legal is coming on and the show starts here in February 2005. I swear I won't miss any episode.
It's the most exciting, clever and witted treatment I've ever seen about legal firms. I don't mind about its credibility. My only interest is that IT IS FUNNY, and those characters are two in millions. James Spader as Alan Shore is the best bastard since J.R. Ewing, and William Shatner is better as Denny Crane than he was as Capt. James T. Kirk. He has a comic talent that he already had a chance to show in "Airplane 2". Look for him there and you'll see what I mean.
The perfect seriousness/comedy mixing is so hard to find... perhaps this is only comparable with Tony Shaloub's Monk.
David E. Kelley must have listened to my heart.
