Days of Heaven (1978)
Stunning, Beautiful And Original
Days Of Heaven (1978) by Terrence Malick.
Let me make this review short and sweet. I liked the movie, it was stunningly beautiful and quite emotional, but i think it was flawed in some ways... For an example i think that the movie was a bit boring, it was easily watchable but a few parts of the movie was in my honest opinion a bit stretched.
And also i didn't like Malick's editing style, it was somehow flawed. But lets not focus on the negative sides of the movie!
I liked the movie because it beautiful and emotional, also the acting was good and believable. Its weird but i somehow pictured Martin Sheen in the role of Bill.
I loved the narrator, narrated by a little girl who creates and interesting atmosphere.
Days Of Heaven is like an beautiful dream, Your eyes... Your ears... Your senses... will be overwhelmed. Rating: 9/10
Cidade de Deus (2002)
Captivating, Charming And Realistic
I just saw City Of God a few minutes ago, i i felt like i need to write this review right away.
I had seen City Of God on IMDb before and i was surprised by the good ratings, so i was started to be generally interested in the movie. I just finished watching it, and it was AWESOME!
I felt the characters, each one of them. I felt their feeling, knew their thoughts i could live their lives. The acting was superb. I'm blown away by how realistically the movie portrays the slums and lives in the slums. You can just feel the atmosphere. I was also quite disturbed by the movie, i wont spoil anything but ill just say that drug business isn't pretty... Also worth mentioning is the movies cinematography, the color palette is amazing. The soundtrack is fantastic also. With all these features, City Of God also manages to entertain you. I like this movie a lot, but it has some minor flaws. My Rating: 9.5/10
Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies (2012)
Stupid, Pointless But Awesome...
Let me just say that the movie isn't good, its not even close to good.
I have seen Asylum Films before, I've seen Alien Vs Avatar (1/10) and Nazis At The Center Of The Earth (2/10). And that being said i didn't have much expectations for Abraham Lincoln Vs Zombies, but i was surprised!
I mean how can you not enjoy a movie where ABRAHAM LINCOLN CHOPS ZOMBIES HEADS OFF WITH AN SICKLE? Also it was technically much more advanced than the other Asylum Films, for example there actually was color correction and even decent green screens. Also acting wasn't even decent(Guy playing Lincoln was close to decent)but it was an improvement from previous Asylum Films. I Admit that the second half was a bit boring, but i liked the film for what it is...
Acting: 4/10 Effects: 5/10 Action: 5/10 Story: 3/10 Overall an 5/10
