I absolutely loved the first season of this show. The plot was great and they managed to showcase lots of stories and problems in just 8 episodes. I was hooked with the main storyline but also enjoyed the secondary characters and how the story was progressing. By the end of season one, I was already feeling sad that it's coming to an end - which made me really excited for the second season.
Now that I just finished season two, there were a few disappointments. 10 minutes in the first episode and I was already cringing so badly to the dialogues... was it like this in the first season? It can't be... After the first two episodes, the season gets better. It still had its cringe moments but at least the plot was getting interesting and the characters were somehow developping. I was hoping for more moments with Darren & Ca$h, as well as some more flavour to Quinni's story. Harper was also kind of random at moments with nothing going on, but having the teachers so involved this season was a nice touch. Except for the male teacher who was totally out of proportion and felt absoultely unrealistic most of the time.
The main plot (the love triangle) was not bad at all, even though it felt too slow at times. I am happy with the season's finale and the potential the production's got for the third (and last) season that will probably come out next year.
These were most of my critiques, but it's still one of the most enterntaining series I've came across over the past two years. The plot is solid for a teen series, the characters are diverse and hilarious at times and there is a nice mix between seriousness and comedy.
I think the series is doing a great (educational) job on many topics and would help young adults going through similar situations. I'm giving it a 10/10 because of the emotions it sparks in me, otherwise I believe a 8.5/10 would be objective.
