The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
Brilliant! Epic! Catwoman is hot!
The final movie of The Dark Knight trilogy has finally arrived! This is a very good and entertaining movie and, in my opinion, the best of the series.
Here is my take on the movie:
Acting: 4/5- Very good acting by the leads, especially Tom Hardy as Bane and Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. Some of the actors were not too good though, like Matthew Modine and the crime boss who attempts to throw Bane and company off a plane at the start of the movie.
Plot/Storyline: 5/5- Very interesting and pretty straightforward. One thing great about the movie is that Catwoman actually DOES SOMETHING and is not just eye candy for the audiences. I believe all the characters were equally deep and well-written.
Dialogue: 5/5- Unlike other movies, this movie has dialogue that sounds right and realistic.
Soundtrack: 5/5- Suitably dark and slightly mysterious soundtrack.
Casting: 4/5- Casting was mostly brilliant especially Tom Hardy as Bane. As stated earlier, Mathew Modine didn't seem to good in his role.
Directing: 4/5 Christopher Nolan is brilliant in directing. He has the right camera angles and handles fast moving action sequences and drama very well. He does not unnecessarily jerk the camera around like other directors, such as Olivier Megatron in Taken 2 and Uwe Boll. He is also able to elicit real looking expressions from most of his cast. Anyone can tell that he put a lot of work into his movie.
Special Effects: 5/5- As usual these days, special effects seem very special and are handled really well. They are not overused so that the human characters can still come out and act.
Overall: Very good movie that suitably concludes the epic Dark Knight trilogy. Hopefully, next year's Man of Steel will also be good. If all DC movies were like this, they might eventually overtake Marvel.
