TWO WORDS..Oh My Gawd...
6 July 2007
Yeah, I know it was three words. But much like this fantasmagorical movie, you will definitely get more than you bargained for or paid for.

There is something for everyone in this flick and all members of the human race will see themselves in at least one of the numerous characters. For a near 3 hour movie, nothing drags, every scene movies forward to the next and keeps you on the edge of the seat. My cool barometer, my 15 y/o daughter thought it was a shorter movie than Pirates which is roughly the same length.

When an autobot gets his legs amputated, and he still rocks onward, I am sure every kid in a wheelchair feels like he wants to go kick some decepticon a$$.

A the end of this movie the entire theater erupted in an impromptu raucous applause, the likes of which I have never seen in near 30 years of movie going.

While it is rumored Transformers cost a whopping 155 million dollars, they will easily make it all back and then some. If a Transforer toy come out after this I for one will buy the damn thing..yup, and I'm 46 years young to boot.

GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!

Holy Smokes

I have never seen a movie in here get so much of a reaction from so many people. I just saw his current film, The Garden, yesterday and my reaction was almost the same.

I definitely came away feeling like I just had an out of body experience or something transcendental happen to me. I am now compelled by all of your comments to go get Requiem...I'll write back after I see it.

Aronofsky as a film maker is along the line of Kubrick as far as the surrealism that seems to split your skull as his messages seeps in and fills your head with his thoughts.

Thanx, Michael James

Awesomely bad motocross movie
30 July 2006
I just watched it on cable and man, I was dying laughing, the cheesiness of the acting was way beyond anything "Kraft" or "Laughing Cow" could've come up with...Lol I am a motocross race and fan for a long time now and it's always good to see my sport on film I could not take this flick seriously. It seemed like it wanted to be too many different films all at once. I love John Saxon who was a staple of movies I watched as a teen, especially sci-fi flicks.

Cable messed up and had a different logline under the title of the movie so I was confused for a long time until I realized the error.

Amazingly, some minor plot elements are almost the same as in the motocross movie I am writing. I had never seen Crossing The Line before so it was weird to see the creative element in all it's mysterious glory. I suppose it was just that the writer has good knowledge of motocross and any similarities between mine and this film were purely coincidental.

It's good to watch on a lazy Sunday afternoon when you don't want to think your way thru a movie, just vegg out and stare at the screen.

Then Came Bronson (1969–1970)
Them came Bronson, then came me...
3 October 2005
I remember watching this show a pre-teen who was madly in love with motorcycles but had no access or acceptance from my family about it. My weeks consisted of sleepwalking though school and waiting for Saturdays to see Then Came Bronson on channel 11, WPIX in NY.

I had to wait until I was 18, got a job, then I got my first bike. A Kawasaki KX125 motocross bike. My friends were all into dirt bikes so I went with them but the call of the open road still excites me today at 44.

Over time, my passion for riding and writing led to a career of sorts writing for motorcycle publications and now websites. Through similar stories that made us motorcyclists feel better about ourselves and stop seeking approval from an often sympathetic but usually ignorant general public, readers acknowledged that I connected with them the way Bronson connected with me.

I owe shows like Then Came Bronson and even the silly Joe Namath movie, CC Rider a debt of gratitude... they told me in no uncertain ways that is was OK to be a motorcyclist. :-) I had sought and today thrive with my tribe, my band of brothers. I liken my closer off-road brethren to the rodeo cowboy and the Bronson-types to the trail cowboys with their long rides but ride we must, iron horses 'tween our knees for this is our calling, our tribal bond.

Then came Bronson.. and then came ME!!! mJ

Motocrossed (2001 TV Movie)

Motocrossed, better than you think
15 August 2005
I first saw this movie when my then 12 y/o daughter wanted a dirt bike of her own. After seeing Daddy (me) race bikes, win trophies, she figured she could do the same. I blew the poor kid off for so long, then she had her older brother tape the movie. When I sat and watched it with her, I was in tears, realizing how much it meant to her to be a racer and proud of her commitment to the cause.

The movie at first put me off a bit since as a participant, I could see through the holes of the track scenes. I watched it a second time and was impressed with the movie on it own legs. The characters were well thought out and their plights were realistic enough for you to care what happens to them, you want to see them all reach their goals.

The action director is a pro racer in Cali. whom I had read about in the dirt bike mags before and those scenes were top notch. The girl beating boys thing was a Disney concession so that everyone feels like a part of the fun.

I can still watch this movie over again and not be bored or put off by it. I heartily recommend you give it a look-see, especially if you have a young daughter who wants to feel empowered to go for her dreams.

mJ PS: as for getting her bike, Jessica fell and got poked in the ribs and wanted out. She ended up racing slot cars and blowing the doors off most of the boys except one. She became a champion racer in her own right and now has a room full of trophies... just like Dad. :-)
