A Cult Classic Greek Comedy Movie!!!
28 May 2004
Filmed almost 50 years ago in a social and economical environment that led so many Greeks to immigrate in Western Europe and North America shortly after the end of world war two, this black & white classic motion picture delivers the best comedy situations out of the ethics and the cultural status of Greece's past generations!... Legendary actors Dinos Iliopoulos and Kostas Hatzihristos are playing the roles of two completely perfect strangers who struggle to keep themselves out of their families old vendetta, because they both have better things to do with their lives and they both actually hate the idea of practicing any physical harm to anybody for any reason! Iliopoulos in the role of a low-profile tailor in Athens metropolitan area and Hatzichristos as a peaceful village farmer who gets lost -literally and metaphorically!- in the big city, create one of the best comedian duos in the Greek filming history with their ultimate performances and their timeless acting chemistry, making this picture one of the most notable and best remembered Greek comedy films ever!

TOP COMEDY PERFORMANCE!
28 May 2004
Imagine yourself in Athens nearly 50 years ago, in a peaceful neighborhood where the most important thing is the man's word of honor and everybody's dream is to find a legitimate way to escape of the financial and social misery! Even in our times a "good marriage" is such a way, despite the fact that in many cases people actually don't fit, especially when love is absent! Legendary actor Kostas Hatzihristos is Zikos who works in a local mini market of that time and makes strong social criticism with the best lines ever written for an actor in a comedy leading role! Of course, the central theme of the plot is Zikos' old boss who is trying to "buy" with his money the love of a pretty but poor young girl! Zikos turns everything upside-down and gets for Kostas Hatzichristos a place in the pantheon of the Greek comedian actors! A truly great performance!

Konstandaras, Papayannopoulos, Exarhakos at their best!!!
27 May 2004
Perhaps the best comedy performance in the big screen for legendary movie and theatrical actor, the late Lambros Konstandaras! In the film he plays the role of a 50 years old successful businessman, who falls in love with a much younger girl (adorable actress Nora Valsami in her early youth!) despite the fact he's engaged for years with his faithful secretary (beloved actress Betti Arvaniti)! His closest friend in the film is a doctor -played by the late Dionyssis Papayannopoulos at his very best performance as an actor in a supporting role!- who tries to keep him out of trouble, since he finds out that the supposed romance is in fact a trap, a well-organised plan to take a lot of money from him! Almost 40 years after the original realize date of this classic film (1967) the clever lines and jokes remain fresh and timeless, and makes it one the most remembered and -according to my opinion- one the best Greek comedy films ever!
