i am just learning to review and that's it!
Suicide Squad (2016)
I had high hopes for this movie, i thought it's going to be the bomb shell of 2016, especially after all those ads and the music videos, the first half of the movie was decent, it was actually fun, the graphics and the colors added a special hype for this movie that will not be forgotten, but there were so much offs, first of all, i lost counting characters after seeing Scott Eastwood, too many characters, too many actors, too many back stories and sub-plots that wouldn't fit into a small movie because each of them deserves an entire movie to be talked about, i was hoping for more screen time for The Joker and The Batman, but i understood the title was Suicide Squad, of course it wouldn't revolve around them or their fight, but Jared Leto as the Joker and him not having enough screen time was such a waste,he's a brilliant actor and his role was brilliant, before watching this movie i thought he's going to be the main villain, Ben Afleck's screen time was also disappointing, he had like what? 3 pretty short scenes, Cara Delevigne had the biggest disappointing screen time ever, too much screen time that is, i was so disappointed that she took the role of the witch, it's a large scaled movie and that role should've gone to a larger scaled actress, not a model on her second debut, Viola Davis, Will Smith, and Margot Robbie were brilliant too, Viola Davis never fails to impress me, so does Will Smith, But Margot Robbie was fantastic, Harley Quinn was the only reason i was so excited to see this movie and her role didn't fail me, it was the plot line that made no sense at all, i thought Amanda were forming this squad (including the Witch) to protect the national security but their job took an unexpected turn because of her and they didn't even mention that this wasn't the mission, i didn't understand the ending at all? like that's it? there job was to kill off the witch before you even know she was an actual threat? somebody please explain it to me because i didn't understand anything at all. There is good in the bad, Family is more than blood, There's light at the end of each tunnel, Women are never born crazy; only men are, is what i concluded from this movie and i liked these conclusion, this movie would've been great if the writers had arranged their thoughts logically, i hope they release a sequel with a better plot-line.
Not only that i fell in love with the storyline, the soundtrack, the theme, the atmosphere, the energy, family bonds, competition, boxing and the training, i also fell in love with Billy Hope, Jake Gyllenhaal made it impossible for anyone else to play Billy Hope as professional as he did, moreover, Forest Whitaker did a pretty amazing job as the mentor, i wanted to see more of Rachel McAdams, it's sad to see her go early, but they had to take her off, because it really went great after; to see Billy Hope struggle afterward, he made me feel everything he was going through, which rarely happens to me. The movie is full of energy, the ending was just so heart touching, i loved it!
Can't top "Limitless"
So this movie is basically about an idea that has been taken before but uses a different storyline. Ryan Higa's parody trailer introduced me to the film, and when i watched the real trailer; i have laughed even harder. Needless to say, i watched it out of curiosity, and wow, it was scientifically, logically, (acting-ly) dumb on so many levels. Now if Lucy was using 100% of her brain; and common sense states that she must know everything in this world, then why didn't she know how to cure herself instead of seeking answers from Professor Norman. The acting wasn't pretty good either, every performance. i have given it a 4 because the action was a bit intense and thrilling, the animal flashbacks rocked, and the visual effects were nice. and that's all i got.
Law Abiding Citizen (2009)
so many thrills, still has that stupid spark.
i've always wanted to watch this movie, and i did. well it wasn't a big disappointment, but it was kinda stupid. the first 30 minutes were outstanding, then the story started to fall apart, it has no sense, if you think about it. i don't have much to say about it, but Gerard butler doesn't fit to the role, i liked Foxx's performance though. i liked the thrills, and the movie had so much jaw-dropping intense scenes, and emotions. it has that "Shawshank redemption" feels but only in the plot, there were a few holes, mistakes of course. what else, yeah, i liked the movie but i would give it a 10 if it didn't have that much stupidity in the story.
Melinda and Melinda (2004)
i knew it was a Woody Allen's! very comic very tragic. i don't have much to say about it but i loved the story, and Radha Mitchell's performances were outstanding, how could she be so fresh and joyful while trying to straighten up her life in one part, and how could she just turn it all around to this miserable Melinda version, while both of the Melinda's were seeking the same thing, it's up to the viewer to see if it was comic or tragic... i loved some symbols, very simple, i don't think that most of the people noticed but, the lamp, the HARD scotch, the straight hair and the curly one, the cigarettes, the horse race, how there are some similarities between both of the stories in the plot and/or the sequence, i believe it's an and though.. i noticed one more thing, the camera rolling, and the colors, in the tragic one, it's all dark even if there were some colors, in the comic it was colorful even if there was black.. and of course, they have the same story, but one of them makes you depressed and the other makes you laugh, ugh, i had a hard time converting emotions, it's really hard for the viewer to wipe his tears off to laugh then comes back to tears, and having to put up with Will Ferrell's so called humor, i hated his performance so much.
White Noise 2: The Light (2007)
i cried while watching.
YES, i did, but in the last scenes only. well, it wasn't made for cries am i right? but somethings about this movie left me in deep thoughts, about the secret of life, what is death, it left me emotionally frustrated, i don't know why did i cry, but this movie has a deep meaning, just the thought of "you're not immortal" makes you wonder..... at some scenes i felt like i feel what the characters feel, like Katee's final scene, it was amazing, the eyes turning, the screaming, she did amazing, i felt something strange whilst this scene was playing. am not writing this review as for people to watch the movie or not, i am just writing it to tell people that i have experienced something different from what they all had. for them it's just a horror movie, but all that talk about the devil, tria mera, the third day, it all seems nonsense to some people, but when you put these things in one movie they just sum up a wonderful terrifying story... i was surprised of how underrated the film is, i have never heard of it, but am more than glad that i have seen it. i don't know about you, but i could swear that i have seen some sort of a ghost, and heard some noise at the kitchen, there's no wind around, and everybody's asleep, what am i going to die?
There Will Be Blood (2007)
2007's classic is a bit tragic; but still magic.
I am just going to throw this out there; the movie is amazing. it never failed to make me bored; i admire this movie so much; it brought me in; and i loved everything. the plot was tremendous; the casting was perfect; Daniel Day Lewis is more than perfect; Paul Dano was amazing; their performances were absolutely incredible and too much to describe. screening was lovely; the sequence was a total mind blow. the movie was (beeping) amazing ,, i have no more words to describe it but as IMDb is forcing me to write more about it i will just keep on saying how much of a great masterpiece it really is.
i recommend this movie for everyone; it's eye-tearing; real,a very real movie.
plot-less; what a shame.
Nominated for 10 Academy Awards, #146 in the list of the best movies ever made; the question is; what's all the hype for?! i watched this movie 5 days ago, and i couldn't wait for the day that i write this review just because i feel like it's a heavy weight on my shoulder! first up; it is not a good movie in any way; i was just wondering about the plot; WHERE IS THE PLOT! a movie is never a movie without a plot; anyway. Sandra Bullock is too good for this performance; but her character isn't great at all; but it's not her fault. well; technically; her only mistake was to agree to play in this movie; as a performance; it was a good one; i'm not surprised; because you know; it's Sandra Bullock. let's talk about George Clooney; okay; so he basically appeared in the first 30 minutes; then dies with no good reason! like; really why? as a performance; -i wish i could review actors- ; because Clooney; as always; is overrated; he can't act; and he won 2 Oscars? pffft. he only smiles and talks; even in Gravity; what acting he does? he doesn't put effort in his acting for god's sake! i have always hated his performances; and his Gravity performance to be exact. For this "so-called" story; it's not something creative; what's so creative about two people stuck in space? the visual effects were OK; really; the only thing that deserves appreciation besides Bullock's OK performance. there were too many scientifically incorrect things in the movie; but the most won't particularize those. this movie is over-rated; plot-less and point-less with no moral lesson, at all. if you haven't seen it yet; don't. unless you're a big fan of visual effects. a really poor film.
The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
what a remarkable movie
This series is probably the best thing i have ever seen; it's an experience itself; it's phenomenal; and unforgettable to be frank; because i basically watched it a month ago for the first time; but i can't not think about it; it moved the jealousy in me to come up with such a successful masterpiece; but i know i will never reach it's class. i hated Judy Foster; i really hated her; well; that was before seeing this movie; but now i admire her; and her incredible performance as Agent Starling; she was fit to this role perfectly, am so glad it went to her. now the reason i watched this movie in all; is because; well; it had it's share of the Academy Awards; and it's one of the best 250; needless to say; Anthony Hopkins was the main reason; the main factor of this movie's success; what a magical performance! Sir.Anthony Hopkins wasn't just amazing at this movie only; but he was in Red Dragon and Hannibal; too. no one can be a better Hannibal Lecter than Mr.Hopkins; this so-called Hannibal TV series is a pile of trash. they destroyed the story. i think i'm going to need another 7 years to get over this movie; considering that it hunts me all the time; and i have become obsessed even; obsessed with this beautiful yet brutal story; obsessed with how intelligent Hannibal is; obsessed of his personality; i'm with no doubt obsessed with this character; i have never seen a better portrayal of a character before; so Anthony Hopkins is definitely one of a kind.
Captain Phillips (2013)
one of the best movies of the year.
How could somebody hate this movie? it can't be hated! Captain Philips; the only movie i wished to be longer; is fantastic. an Oscar worthy; liked every minute; perfect; flawless; and every other positive word. i seriously love Leonardo DiCaprio; and his performance in The Wolf Of Wall Street is great; but i really think Tom Hanks should have been nominated for Leading actor at the Oscars; Tom Hanks drove me into the movie. his performance was literally incredible; Barkhad Abdi! thank god for this; a Somalian great actor! Everything in this movie is beautiful; and it teaches some good moral stories. i proudly give it a ten.
