Grave Encounters (2011)
Wow, scary!
Considering the limitations of its obvious low budget, the film producers did a good job with the effects and such. I was terrified. Although my boyfriend is the kind of guy who doesn't get scared of anything, even he enjoyed it. Yes, it's similar to the Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity, so if you like those movies, you'll like this one. Near the middle to the end, the plot gets kind of slow, but it's still definitely an entertaining horror flick.
The negative reviews gave it low ratings because it's been done before. Okay, while I agree that yes, it's been done before, it's still a horror movie that you'd enjoy if you're looking to be scared. It still has its differences that when combined with all the ghostly happenings make it its own unique movie. For those that said it's not scary at all, I disagree. I'm the kind of movie-goer who loves horror movies, but still has to peek through her hands during the scary parts. So if you're like me, watch it!!

I do wish, however, that there was something more at the end. In the beginning, they have an intro before showing the "found footage" and I would've liked to have that at the end also to explain some things such as whether the innkeeper unlocked the door and found the crew, or did he find all their equipment but not them? Some kind of firm conclusion would have added another layer of a scare factor.
