I can't understand how so many people gave this remake such high reviews. Usually my feelings are right in line with the majority of the other users commenting. I found this film to be confusing with too many sub-plots running all over the place. This move lacked the character buildup of the killer, therefore leaving me feeling detached and unsympathetic to the killer's motives. In the original, the viewer may not agree with what Billy does, but you can at least see the psychology behind what "nurtured" him in to the state he ends up in.
What happened to Malcolm McDowell?? With titles like A Clockwork Orange, Caligula and even Blue Thunder, how did he stoop so low? Is he turning into a Michael Madsen "Need to pay the mortgage" actor?
I am a devoted horror fan with over 600 titles in my personal collection, not to mention all the ones I rent from Netflix. I prefer b- rated, obscure horror to mainstream blockbuster ones. This movie is bad, like the latest sequels of the SAW series. (I liked the first 3, just not any after that).
