Review of Star Wars Revenge of the sith
Star Wars episode three: Revenge of the Sith is bigger and better than the previous two Star Wars movies, with breathtaking battles, tragic tear-jerking moments, grim and gore and a little comedy to bring together the story of Anakin's journey to the Dark Side. Prepare for the movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat in anticipation of the Vader suit appearing on the big screen once more.
Take tissues, this movie is sure to bring even the hardest person to wipe a tear and try to remember that this movie DOES NOT HAVE A HAPPY ENDING. With many gruesome deaths, (Count Dooku's death is particularly grim and incredibly soon in the movie) Horrific scenes (Anakin and the young-lings and the part where Anakin is hobbling on the ground trying to get away from the lava, sets alight and we all see quite clearly his flesh burning off his face and he becomes unrecognisable.) A lot of Jedi die in this movie. All of them in fact, bar Obi Wan, Yoda and Of course our Anakin, who ultimately becomes Darth Vader.
On a negative note, some of the scenes were slightly tacky, the computer graphics have improved a little but I was surprised at how bad they were. (e.g, the first battle) General Grievious is particularly annoying in this movie (Thank goodness he is killed fairly soon)And those irritating Wookie, Gr, thankfully they are not in the movie too much.
DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE if you do not want to watch anything sad. This movie is DARK, shows that the Dark side has won and poor Yoda is left in a swamp with Obi Wan. Padme's story is particularly heartbreaking to watch, she is pregnant and looks and feels helpless as Anakin turns to the dark side to help her live through child birth, oh how Ironic it is that if Anakin did not go to the dark side Padme would NOT have died as she would still love Anakin and have a will to live.
So that is my review, I gave this movie an 8 because I think as an overall movie it is fantastic and George Lucos did a very impressive job on this movie, being faithful to the book and neatly tied everything up making it easy to understand the full story. But I was unimpressed with the unnecessary amount of gore (You don't need to watch Anakin turn into a bloody lump!) and the fact that Padme did not have a larger part. But I would say that this film is worth watching and will become a great hit.
Thanks for reading.
