Watch Dogs (2014)
Watch Dogs offers interesting new features albeit a clichéd story.
I purchased Watch Dogs, only knowing that it involves computer-hacking, and was very over- hyped resulting in many disappointed. Now, having completed the campaign, I must say Watch Dogs is a solid first entry in this new franchise, and while it does have it's flaws, they could be improved in a sequel. Let's start off with the good, Watch Dogs does a remarkable job of creating a city that feels so real with all the lights, people and just the world itself moving around you. I've never felt so immersed in a city since Rockstar's "L.A. Noire". Not to mention the graphics which enhance the game and only add to the realism. The characters (especially Clara) have so much detail and effort put into their appearances that they always light up the screen whenever they are featured in the game. Now to the negatives, which unfortunately can't be forgotten, the story. Watch Dogs features a very simple, predictable story that feels dead, and lifeless until the ending which had a surprising amount of depth. The clichés lie mainly with the characters (motivations, personalities, etc.) and it took me out a bit, especially when they kept occurring throughout. Overall, I'd say Watch Dogs is a pretty good game, it doesn't live up to it's potential fully, however If you're looking for a stealthy action game with an open world begging you to explore it, you wouldn't be wasting your time with this game. 7.7/10
