Despicable Me 2 (2013)
A funny, cute and adorable sequel that is really worth to watch.
The probably only movie where the main character isn't on the poster nor very present in adverts, Gru can blame the Minion's for that, but hey, they really are adorable. "Despicable Me 2" isn't less good than the first, moreover it's even funnier than its predecessor. "Despicable Me 2" doesn't try to hard, and exactly that's what makes it the way it is. The Plot is clear and simple, what makes it fair even for little kids (in contrast to Epic for example). It was very heartwarming to hear about 50 kids laugh next to me for 100 minutes and just having fun, and I can recommend this one to adults and kids as one. The Lone Ranger (2013)
Hammer and Depp saved the movie from being a 3/10
Gore Verbinski's fourth movie in a row with Johnny Depp in the leading role (the second and third Pirates of the Caribbean and than Rango). Disney hopes to have its next "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise while it's very questionable if it will be. As a Verbinski movie everything, of course, happens in the last moment and everybody got almost killed, about 10 times, but still the action scenes are enjoyable. It tries to be funny, sometimes successfully but most attempts fail. Arnie Hammer and Johnny Depp are a good choice for the two leading roles and make this very average (and sometimes even boring) somehow fun to watch. Now You See Me (2013)
Entertaining, but could have been much better.
Louis Leterrier best known for The Transporter, The Transporter 2 and the horrible Clash of the Titans isn't exactly a popular director. I went to see the movie because of the great cast: Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco. A bombastic cast which is probably hard to top. The story is great, really really fantastic, but the way it's made is so unrealistic and too Hollywood (what is clearly Monsieur Leterriers signature). It sadly didn't fulfill its potential at all, yet is still enjoyable and surely worth a watch. Man of Steel (2013)
"Man of non-sense action which takes itself too serious" would fit much better as title.
Very, very disappointing. I had really high hopes for this one, but as soon as I saw the second trailer I understood that it will be very serious approached (like Nolan's Batman trilogy) and much less in a fun superhero way (like the Iron Man trilogy for example). On the one hand I don't like the idea of making superhero movies dark and serious, because superheroes should be fun and charismatic in my opinion. On the other hand The Dark Knight was good even though it hadn't any fun in it. Now back to Man of Steel which tried to be a serious superhero movie but ended up as non-sense action flick. The plot is lacking and the half of it are pointless fighting scenes that just doesn't want to end. The world superman comes from (Krypton) was made in an awkwardly ridiculous way, and Zod is a horrible villain with a funny voice. Man of Steel takes itself extremely serious and forbids itself to be funny even for a second, which made it only worse. You can find more reviews for movie that are in theaters now on my profile.
