The Pearl (2001)
Awful! A Disgrace To The Book!
The movie was possibly the biggest disgrace to anything I've ever seen! I read the book in English and we got the chance to watch it and everyone hated it. Not only is it a disgrace to the book, but the graphics are also horrible. When Kino finds the pearl, it glows and the rain comes in much faster than clouds normally come in. Also, they are holding they're baby who was just near to dying that morning in the rain, if they do that he is going to get sick and he is going to die. Later when the trackers are following them, Juana is to exhausted to walk so Kino carries her, and later they find water, but before Juana had even gotten a drink, she was standing and full of energy. Also, Kino just turns from a normal old peasant to a ninja in seconds and he never owned a rifle but he killed 2 guys on the first shot. Also Juana and Coyotito are being terrorized by the Indian trackers and they are just waving fire in front of their face and doing nothing. Finally, there is so much of it that never happened in the book, which was also very annoying. Bottom line...This movie is NOT worth seeing. If you've read the book it's a disgrace, if you haven't, it doesn't make sense.
The Green Mile (1999)
One Of The Greatest Movies I Have Ever Seen!
The Green Mile is my favorite movie! It was a complete roller coaster ride of emotions that made me cry. The end was the saddest when Michael Clarke Duncan's character is put on the chair although we know he is innocent and it was the crazy man locked up. I also thought it was so sad when they were watching the last movie that the prisoner got to watch before he died, and then Tom Hanks's character started to cry! I also loved how even though the prisoner was huge, he had a heart of gold, and he actually appeared cute and innocent to me during the whole movie. The only con of the movie was it took me a little bit to understand the murder of the little kids that was committed by the insane man in the movie. I also loved when the old Tom Hanks showed the old lady that he was telling the story to the mouse that was still alive. The amazing thing was i had watched this movie right after seeing Forrest Gump and I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to take Tom Hanks seriously, but I could! It just proves how amazing an actor Tom Hanks is.
