Villeneuve is overated
19 May 2024
After seeing Dune part 2, not only I think it's far inferior to the book, it's almost always the case, but it's even far inferior to the David Lynch version. This flick drags on, 2H45 and you can seriously take many toilet breaks without being lost with hundreds of scenes where nothing happens. Most of the night scenes are just unwatchables you barely see what's happening, white and white subtitles for the important dialogues in fremen languages, this Villeneuve is a terrible movie makers. This could have been a decent yet boring 2H30 movie instead of two endless ones. Zendaya just sucks, not in a million year you would believe she can fight dozens of soldiers with her 35 kg, same with Chalamet, terrific actor in sensitive roles, unbelievable in action movies... I did not liked Villeneuve previous movies too , bladerunner 2049 was a pedant insult to the original, Arrival was boring and senseless;

3 Body Problem (2024– )

Plain boring
12 April 2024
I haven't the books but like most reviewers who did I didn't liked it. Not because of the useless love triangles or the cast. Complaining that auggie is too good looking to be a top scientist is borderline sexist and plain stupid. Even if they are far feom the majority you meet many young women in science university studies and they can be stunning or ugly just like in any other curriculum. Choosing a part western cast for an international oriented big budget TV show makes perfect sense, recently there not a single production without an Asian and an Indian to please local audiences for the same reasons... No I didn't liked it because it's boring and it tells a story that could have been told in one book or two but clearly someone wanted to milk the cash cows again.

For open minded dog lovers!
9 April 2024
For open minded dog lovers! Some reviewers have a problem a with cross dressing protagonist, not his delusional and senseless dog assisted murders: It says a lot about nowadays bigotry and total lack of basic empathy. O tempora O mores!

It's a B-serie violent movie and the obvious low budget does not make it 'art house ' or something. It has more to do with the deep financial problems of Besson since Valerian flopped. Most of the budget went to the ( amazing) tricks made by the dogs.

It seems that ones flopped too, that's a shame it's basically one of Besson's best movie ( I am not a fan of his cliché cinematography in general even if he made decent movies live Joan of Arc or the fifth element)

starts strong but...
27 January 2024
This studio canal TV how starts strong but gets dumb very fast. The whole swindle makes no sense: VAT is not paid back by the central bank but by the buyer and the whole scheme was that the seller was keeping it after bankrupting the fake companies Who writes such idiocratic scripts? The customs officers and his junkie daughter side story is stupid, in fact all the side stories are dumb... Characters are dumb, dialogues are dumb. It drags on for episode with basically nothing happening. Canal plus recently produced great TV shows but most of them are stupid like this one. Save yourself the time and watch something else...

Harlots (2017–2019)

Stop comparing Harlots with GoT!
22 April 2017
London in the 1780s. One woman out of five in the city is a prostitute. The lucky ones may find a 'keeper', some degenerated aristocrat who will buy her exclusivity. For the rest of them, a life in the street at the mercy of abusive madams very likely to end with a STD. The idiot will compare Harlots with Game of throne because they have NO culture: GoT fills boring episodes with gratuitous sex and violent scenes because its author has no clue to where his story is going. Like in Harry Potter or Twilight , George R. R. Martin only knows he found morons who will buy its next seven books and hopes that his BS will magically make sense in the end: It usually doesn't. Nothing is gratuitous in Harlots and if you were looking for an excuse to see rapes and torture, keep watching GoT or Homeland. Harlot is a very graphic and pertinent display of the early industrial revolution and capitalist champion, UK in the 18th century and a truly feminist story that almost made me forget that the feminazis stole my candy. # Ingland is a bitch, there no running away from IT! #

Zoo (2015–2017)

Animal fringe
2 December 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I wasn't surprised to read here that one of the producers behind the masterpiece of sh1t, Fringe, was behind Zoo. Idiotic nonsense, pseudo science that a sixth grader wouldn't buy: seriously, the lines explaining what is the mother was so stupid it made me laugh for hours. Actors are bad, really awful. I was wondering why they bother picking a French actress and other actors that speak French like a Spanish cow to realize it was just another out of fashion French bashing: The team was set up by the bad guys... If U like stupid comedy, re watch Friends 'cause zoo is plain stupid. Sine IMDb tells me my review is too short another lines. The z-team keep traveling around the world but most location must be settings and streets of Canada and it shows...
