The Room (2003)
This movie is SO bad....it's funny!
Okay to start off with yes I did give this movie a 9, but those who have seen the review of this done by the Nostalgia Critic would understand why I rated it so high.
To start off with I had NEVER heard of this film up until I saw the review by the NC. To say the least I was both shocked and laughing hard as the review progressed. After a while you start to realize that this film is more of a guilty pleasure than being down right horrible. Yes the acting is horrific and the storyline is quite cliché. On the other hand you have to give Tommy Wiseau SOME credit for trying to make a dollar. If there's anything I've learned from this movie it would be these:
1) Have an affair with your future husband in public 2) Throw around a football with tuxes on 3) Take shockingly bad news rather decently 4) Make cat noises when fighting with your best friend, AND! 5) Always ask if someone is dead when they obviously are.
Overall there's not much else to say, like the NC said it's really worth checking out granted we don't get yelled at by those copyright nazi's over at Wiseau Films. Nonetheless it's worth picking up at the video store if you have nothing else to do that night.
Hope this was helpful!
An Inconvenient Truth (2006)
tear jerking yet beautiful
This is truly a movie worth commenting on because of the images and realizations that it teaches society. al gore deserves the academy award for this masterpiece. He shows us the true power that nature can release when we abuse our powers and gifts as human beings. what's even scarier are the predictions that we face, maybe not in the next 10 years, but in the next 100. The bottom line is that we deserve to treat the earth as we treat one another. I attended this event originally for extra credit for my geography class but ended up with more then i could ever wish. It brings back moral values as well as understanding that for every action, what happens after that is something that we can't handle.
depressing, but well done adventure
When i first saw the previews for this i was really taken back at how good the effects were and that it would be a blast to see. Well as it turned out my emotions are mixed with this movie. There were times during the movie in which i felt that it was focusing on too little within the number of people that were going to make it out. There's not a lot to say about this movie except that it brings you down to reality instead of escaping. To say the least it was good based on the effects of the ship. Overall i gave this a 5.5 because it didn't quite live up to the hype that it was expected to. I happened to see the remake on TV last night and it's quite comparable to this one. Not a whole lot of changes, the parts played by Kurt Russell and Richard Dreyfuss were well done. Anyone who is a fan of them or of the series will in most case enjoy the movie overall. My last thought on this is that it will in most likelihood be nominated for a couple of Oscars.
