After watching the captivating trailer I watched this movie. I have to admit it was a great performance by Tom Hardy, a good looking and well executed movie and yet I'm disappointed to be honest. The trailer for this movie has to be the most misleading trailer that I have ever seen! It makes the movie appear as something completely different from the actual story! It mislead me into thinking it was an actual gripping thriller, where as it was more a character drama!
(There may be a spoiler ahead, but I personally don't think so, yet I'm adding this in just to cover myself... So if you are that way inclined, don't read any further)
I have to admit, It does keep you engaged (and that is mainly from Tom Hardys stellar performance, and good writing), but it doesn't really take you anywhere! There is no resolution, just an hour and a half of someones messed up life in a car! Watch it if you are wanting a good master class in acting (not necessarily accents!) but don't be mislead like me with the trailer.
Just utterly fantastic!
Everything about this series is superb. It keeps you watching solidly throughout, keeping you on the edge of your seat until the very end. I love the writing, the acting, directing, production... And also the fact the each of the two series so far actually ends on a finalised note rather than a cliff hanger. (cliff hangers bug the hell out of me!) The whole premise of this series is a breath of fresh air compared to all the junk TV out there. It explores the dark side of human nature and morality, it tries to make you think and wonder about it, offering all the alternative view points. This show is a must if you crave intelligent TV viewing. Keep up the good work guys and gals.
waste of talent and money
I don't normally write reviews, but for this film I had to. I'm shocked at the acting talent in this move going to waste... the script was appalling... the editing awful... and the plot very thin. You spend the first half of the movie wondering who is talking to who and what on earth they are doing. The latter half of the movie slows down slightly, but has no depth or feeling. The only saving grace is the nice, but still limited cgi, and the location being London. I gave 3 stars for that, and the fact the actors still tried to do a good job with the drivel they were given. If you fancy losing a couple of hours of your life with mediocre popcorn disaster movie entertainment, by all means, this is the movie for you. But I would recommend doing something else with your time instead, like watching the real archive footage online! :) http://www.weatherpaparazzi.com/flooding.asp
