Max (I) (2015)
10/10
Max is worth the investment
2 July 2015
Max will make all your emotions come to the surface. It will make you cry and laugh, it will make you feel triumph and fear and ultimately it will make you cheer for Max and Justin all throughout the movie.

This inspirational story won't only make you explore your feelings in a refreshing way, it will also teach you about important life lessons along the way. The power of truth, honesty and the importance of opening your heart to those around you –to both humans and animals.- As you watch the growth of the main character in Max you will also feel yourself growing alongside of him.

The most beautiful thing about this movie is how remarkably well the actors did at making this film bring out the raw truth and 'real life' events displayed throughout this movie. Carlos (real life Belgian Malinois in the film) did an absolutely amazing job at bringing to life the character of Max and making everyone fall in love with this true hero. I have seen some good dog films before but by far this canine outdid every other dog 'actor' I have seen.

'To be a hero you don't need to fight in a war, you just need to be brave enough to tell the truth.'

For those of you who haven't seen it yet, and didn't put it on their movie to go see. I can tell you it is an 'investment' to go see in theaters. If you are like me and don't often (or ever) go to the movies this is one of those rare movies that NEEDS to be watched. Especially by people who love the German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois breeds. This movie is clean, family friendly and most importantly powerfully filled with real life events. It's my 'movie of the year' that I will urge people to invest in.

Just thought I'd share my two cents. Max is truly worth the watch. :)

The Song (I) (2014)
An outstanding movie with substance and truth.
29 September 2014
"'The Song' is a gripping story of a singer that seeks the wisdom of God, and that tastes the temptations of this life along the way. A modern day Solomon, Jed King learns the hard way that fame comes at a heavy price. The way we all often find out when we 'go into the world'.

Alan Powell (singer of Anthem Lights) pulls off an outstanding preference on the 'Big Screen.' His captivating and believable character development was strongly brought to life through his acting. Throughout the movie you can feel his battles, from the fame, to the lust, to the struggles within his own marriage. That without God everything is 'meaningless.'

Sadly we find that most Christian movies are of low quality when it comes to acting, graphics and everything else that goes into making movies. But 'The Song' aced it. The scenes were beautifully done and the cast acting was enjoyable. It always makes me happy to watch a Christian movie with such an amazing impact. We definitely need more of these films in theaters.

I love Chasing Mavericks
13 November 2012
Chasing Mavericks is a story of hopes and dreams, a story of a boy who knew what he had to live for. Some of us chase our dreams of going to college, or becoming a football player or a Lawyer. And there are others that dream of chasing the biggest wave, like Jay Moriarity he lived for riding those waves, for pushing himself to become strong enough for the Mavericks.

The imagery in this movie is outstanding; it pulls you into the sea and sucks you deep into the beauty of the water. It makes you feel and see the details of the scene, makes you long to run your fingers through the surface of the tide, to inhale the fresh scent of sea air.

Chasing Mavericks makes you realize the importance of living everyday to the fullest, to love those around you while you have the chance to do so, because each day is numbered and to never let the 'distance' of our own problems draw us away from those we love most. This movie also shows us the effect of fatherhood on our younger generation, how our boys and girls desperately need the strong leadership of role-models from fathers. How without the guidance of a father figure many of us will never reach the dream of 'riding the Mavericks.' How the loss of our fathers become our biggest 'fears', they hold us back from achieving what we want most. Acceptance and love.

Jay defines all the odds, reaches the goals of what he was created for, he lives his life to the very fullest and changes the lives of so many others along the way. 'We are all from the water, but we don't all live for the water.'

Chasing Mavericks is a clear five stars printed on my sleeve!
