Star Wars: Rebels (2014–2018)

I liked it
3 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I have watched this series since it first aired. For me it has rarely disappointed. Aside from the occasional episode.

For those that don't know Star wars rebels takes place between Episodes III and IV and follows a group of rebels that are trying to beat the empire.

In my humble opinion the writing has been brilliant almost almost alway the way through. Please remember this is from the perspective of someone who has not watched season 3, as it has not been released at the time of writing.

The music brilliant, Writing very good, Characters Great. It is a must watch for almost everyone.

I Kinda like it

What can you say about the highlander sequels. Highlander II and Highlander the source are prime examples of complete cinematic failure and Highlander Endgame is just below average.

I have heard a a lot of people say that this film is just terrible and barley any better than Highlander 2. This is a point I disagree with. While this movie has quiet a few problems, the biggest of which the story being almost completely duplicating the first. there are definitely are a few things that are good.

What is good. In my humble opinion I think that that the performances are not half bad, both Christopher Lambert and Mario Van Peebles are good in their roles. The Special effects, While not great, are well used and fluid. And lastly the Action sequences a reasonably well done, while far from being the best ever put to screen they are o.k.

As I said there are problems. The big one being, as I mentioned a bit further up, is the story. it is almost a complete copy of the first. Even a lot of the same things are done. such as the scene with Kane going in out of traffic with one of Conner's loved ones in the passenger seat.

All in all this is not that bad a film but some people may have trouble sitting through it.

If you Love the Nostalgia Critic you will enjoy this
10 May 2013
Back in 2008 I came across a series called 'The Angry Video Game Nerd' this turned me into a fan James Rolf straight from the off. It was not until 2 years later that I came across other internet reviewers Such as Doug Walker (the Nostalgia Critic) and Noah Antwhiler (The Spooney Experiment).

These series I love and will probably continue to enjoy for a long time to come. Then in late 2011 I came across Erod (The Blockbuster Buster). The hammer wielding bad-ass who uses way to much hair gel.

What I like about this series that Mr Rodriguez starts his reviews with an open mind and is willing to give each film a chance, is willing to try and see some good points (Yes, even in with Michael Bay's movies, which I know is hard to do).

I came to like him a lot more recently when I found that he is also an avid Doctor Who fan like my self and still and enjoys animated series and films, unfortunately our generation will not even consider animation good entertainment as they see it as a only suitable for kids, Sorry getting sidetracked.

Anyway, This guy's reviewing technique and sense of humour is great and anyone who loves people such as the ones I mentioned a few paragraphs earlier should give this guy a chance.

Well I can not think of anything else to say about this guy, I'm mt1768 and I'm ... just some guy on the internet trying to get his opinion across.

The Condor (2006 Video)

Really clichéd
28 September 2012
Warning: Spoilers
This thing is one of the most clichéd films I have seen in a long time.

The story follows Tony Valdez a skateboarder who losses his parents to their unscrupulous business partner and becomes a vigilante hero in order to avenge them.

Seriously, how many times have we seen this type of back story. The loss of a loved one has been done to death in almost every incarnation of Spiderman and Batman.

Don't worry the clichés continue with the girl that admires him from a distance and dates a rival as rebound.

Another minor problem is the time it takes for the hero to suit up as the Condor.

Now that I have done moaning time for me to talk about the plus side. Well the voice acting is pretty decent and I'd say that a couple of the characters are well written.

As for the animation it's OK, not great but far from terrible.

My final thought is, only watch of you are massive Stan Lee fan or love Superhero movies.

Ultimate Spider-Man (2012–2017)

What were they thinking
2 August 2012
In the past Marvel has adapted it's comic characters very well to the small screen. Examples include X men the animated series and the Spectacular Spiderman. Now we have this series.

Not being a comic book fan I cannot compare how well this series has been translated from the comics but compared to the series that have come before it is a real disappointment.

If I hate this series so much why have I given it a 3 instead of a 1. I have done this for two reasons. Reason 1 the animation, I think it is very well done and the second thing is Venom. I kind of like what they did with Venom here, giving him a new origin compared to what they where doing before just giving him the same one in every other series which was making things a bit predictable.

Now for the bad things and my god there is a long list of things wrong with this. 1. the humour, maybe the jokes don't sit well with me because I am outside the age range for this cartoon but I think that they would only be funny really young kids who do not know any better. 2. The characters them selves are bland as hell and are not worth investing in what so ever 3.the Writing is for the most part lazy and drab. Most of the episodes (barring the ones with Venom) have next to no merit and are not worth your time.

So that is my opinion on this incarnation of the webslinger. If you just enjoy good animation and do not give two hoots about good writing and characters give it a watch otherwise, AVOID.
