What is there to say about such productions? You'll typically find cowboys and plenty of shooting. I found each of these films to be worthwhile on its own merits.

Given the nature of the genre, most of the entries herein also appear in my Pizza-Worthy Guy Flicks list, although the latter omits a number of Westerns that struck me as being too outdated, hokey or weird to deserve the full pizza and beer treatment.

Having chosen to add a title to this incomplete but still reasonably comprehensive list of all feature films, documentaries and TV series that I've watched over the years on DVD, VHS or broadcast television implies little beyond not having had to suppress a powerful urge to hunt down and inflict richly deserved, cruel and unusual punishment upon the creators. However, except as explicitly noted, I don't actually regret having taken the time for these cinema experiences. Productions that I outright regretted having seen do not appear in the list.

Needless to say, you may or may not agree with my quick assessment of the entertainment value of these productions. One man's poison is another man's meat. It's worth noting that this is my most liberal and inclusive list. My other lists are pickier.

The productions herein encompass all genres and are listed in no particular order.

These films range from deliriously insane to ridiculously clownish but in a good way.

a list of 658 titles
Most of these films are included because they were not quite good enough to populate the premier pending list but still seemed good enough to drag out for a routine evening's amusement. Some films are included because they belong to a series that I'd already been watching as individual segments or sequels were released.

As a matter of policy and from hard-won experience, I now completely ignore anything with an overall IMDb rating of less than 6.7, and all recent additions sport overall IMDb ratings of 7.0 or higher. The selections also exclude overly weird or viciously gruesome productions, the criterion for which is admittedly a judgment call.

A well-rounded fellow likes a few good "chick flicks" mixed in with his Westerns, gangster dramas and other manly men movies. A little of the kissy-poo never hurt anyone, at least not permanently.

The films herein technically encompass all genres, but each entry possesses that unmistakable flavor of female appeal.

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse ride fast and hard in these productions, notwithstanding the occasionally comedic treatment of War, Famine, Pestilence and Death. Terrorism has sometimes been called the Fifth Horseman.

Given the nature of the genre, many of the entries herein also appear in my Pizza-Worthy Guy Flicks list. The entries appear in no particular order.

Impossible cuteness, grotesque weirdness and skilled techniques make themselves at home in these fine productions by gifted artists having great fun at the art of frame-by-frame animation.

Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris have approved these selections with roundhouse kicks, even though the productions hew to a rather broad definition of "martial arts".

Given the nature of the genre, most of the entries herein also appear in my Pizza-Worthy Guy Flicks list, although the latter omits a number of entries that struck me as being too weird or oddball to deserve the full pizza and beer treatment.

I'm not a particular fan of the horror genre, but an occasional bout with shuddering chills and indecent thrills can't hurt. Please note that I detest "slasher" films and refuse to watch them or encourage their production by listing them, although a number of entries herein do contain frightening amounts of red slashing, gashing and mashing.

This premier pending list of unwatched films contains only the best potential cinema experiences. It relies heavily on well-supported IMDb ratings and on my own past experiences with hundreds of films.

It should be noted that I tried hard to weed out overly weird or horrifying crap. I think all day long already and want not to have to think even more about what is supposed to be light entertainment, which means that militantly artsy-fartsy films have been banished to the barnyard. Sadistic slasher gorefests that rely exclusively on the sheer shock value of bloody mutiliation and murder are also out, out, out. The standard pending list, found elsewhere, is a looser collection that holds a significant portion of the potential couch-potato fodder that didn't make into the premier pending list.

The films herein encompass all genres and appear in a peculiar order that undoubtedly makes sense only to myself.

I've chosen to employ a fairly broad interpretation of organized crime for the selection of these productions. The line was remarkably hard to draw, but it is to be hoped that the boundaries are still reasonably clear.

Given the nature of the genre, many of the entries herein also appear in my Pizza-Worthy Guy Flicks list. The entries appear in no particular order.

I believe each of these films contains a special "spark" or some other unusual and desirable quality that is missing from most films. Needless to say, this is an extremely subjective judgment call. Still, if you like the first two or three films that you select from this list of recommendations, then the odds are decent that you will like most of the rest.

The films herein encompass all genres.

The dead past is made to perform for our amusement in these lively retellings, a fair number of which bear little resemblance to what must have been actual reality. In fact, one suspects a few of these to be entirely imaginary.

I appreciate it when scriptwriters and producers bother themselves to pay attention to such details as plot, background and characterization. I found these particular productions to be especially worthwhile as manly men entertainment for beer and pizza gatherings, notwithstanding occasional chick-appeal elements such as families and romantic entanglements. It is to be hoped you don't find these choices to be jarring.

The films herein encompass a range of genres, but the focus is on gangster and crime dramas, Westerns and male-oriented comedies. They appear in no particular order.
