A failed attempt to do an ALIEN remake of some kind.Sorry guys...try harder. Although its a horror sci-fi movie, still I would expect some sort of basic human emotions when the real first ET is found. What happens here is: lets wake it up.Let's raise the temperature from minus 100 to plus 20 in 3 seconds.Give me a break!. You are dealing with an unknown living source and all that separates you from it is a rubber glove?OMG! The the Rory goes to save his friend whilst wearing no protective clouting and the alien creature is loose in the chamber . again..OMG! Then he is using an incinerator inside that chamber throwing flames left right and center....nothing gets damaged..NOTHING. oh com'on.. 40 minutes did it for me.
This emotional masterpiece is one of the best movies i have seen in the recent years
This emotional masterpiece is one of the best movies i have seen in the recent years .Starting with young Saroo -Sunny Pawar who is absolutely magnificent and later with Dev Patel the older Saroo. Emotions run high throughout the movie. The fact you are watching real life events sheds even more emotions to the already emotional drama .Nicole Kidman has a relatively small role here .The real stars are young and older Saroo, that shine bright throughout the whole film. You will remain with some thoughts after the watching this movie. One of the most interesting thoughts of mine where the reasons of the Brierley's for adopting Saroo.Think about it.!
Stayed till the end of the movie as respect to Tom Hanks
Stayed till the end of the movie as respect to Tom Hanks, otherwise I would have left after the first hour.In fact nothing major is happening in the first hour . Then, after an hour, for some 20 minutes there is some clarity regarding the plot and some action , and then again the movie falls in to a coma for some while till the finale. A lot of mumbo-jumbo about Dante, hell and other stuff with back flashes are going on throughout the movie, various individuals and organizations are chasing Prof Langdon. Personally lost interest as I did not know who is who , although I hoped this will be cleared towards the end..Is there suspense? yes there is a bit.Can you figure out how this will end?I leave that to you to figure out.
Designated Survivor (2016)
Tom Kirkman (AKA Jack Bauer) saves the USA and the World
Everyone knew Jack Bauer will be back in this or another form and shape. He has matured maybe a bit but the cool Jack Bauer is back although he has another name Tom Kirkman , and at least is not on the worlds most wanted list.Kiefer Sutherland is a versatile actor.Though best portraying characters who are authoritative and can convince someone to do something they did not want to do in the first place.Realistic or not, possible or not, Designated Survivor is an interesting story to follow. The other characters are doing a convincing job as well, but with all respect to the rest of the cast Kiefer Sutherland "is the man"
Jason Bourne (2016)
Jason Bourne with car chases and crashes on steroids
Wow..If you blink once during these 123 minutes you are doomed to miss something-hence the 7 starts, otherwise it would be 8 stars. Some actions in this film are so fast and furious that it sometimes impossible to follow a car chase or a quick exchange. This is a spy VS spy VS spy story or JB trying to take hold of his past that he even does not know how it looks.Filming in locations such as Athens, Rome,London adds quit a slot reality to this fast paced JB franchise thriller. With TL Jones, one can not go wrong in a movie.TLJ is always convincing ,and again, he does not look happy as the director of the CIA who ,as it looks, has a lot to hide . Without this being a spoiler I can with confident add It ain't over till the fat lady sings. Ahh and one last thing-I estimate Matt Damon had no more than about 30 sentences to memorize. The whole script in my mind is no longer than maybe 2 -3 pages. All the rest of the time is pure action!
Eye in the Sky (2015)
Tranquilizer required prior to watching this Great movie
90 gripping minutes of pure military VS the politicians drama with lives at stake!. Regardless the fact that a film with Helen Mirren, Aaron Paul, Alan Rickman almost has zero chance of going wrong, this film is a masterpiece of human compassion , thinking outside the box by those who understand all the facts, and from the other side showing the pure stupidity of the political establisments "cover my behinds" attitude of the people we have voted for, in one way or the other to lead and protect us,mostly indeviduals who have no clue,or basic notion of what's in front of them when fighting terror, as the most experience with terror they have is with a cockroach in their kitchens!! Myself and people around were tempted to shout out and tell AAron and Helen what they should do...but after all its a movie that although fictional unfortunately is based on real life . So take a Tranquilizer and enjoy!
London Has Fallen (2016)
99 minutes of pure action movie.Nothing more nothing less.
This sequel to Olympus has fallen is as good as sequels usually are.Almost like the original .Almost.A lot of action, bombs, fire, shooting you name it. Alon Abutbul is again mastering as the bad guy.Gerard Butler does his best to save the day and to save the President. The plot is simple yet unfortunately very actual-just see latest event in Paris and Belgium.Technical and visual effects are well done as well. I was impressed by some unique shooting angels(camera angle) practiced by Mr Babak Najafi. All in all it 99 minutes of pure action movie.Nothing more nothing less.Must admit , if the extremists will ever be able to plan and execute anything even close to what is portrayed in the move then good bless us all
Well made action movie
This again is not the conventional Bond movie. it has some personal touch to who and what Bond is .Although I did not really get what it was Bond was looking for , it did not really matter, as a Bond film is a Bond film. It's either bad Good or excellent. This one in my mind was almost excellent.Well done car and helicopter/plane chases.A lot of punching and fist fights, some gadgets and other geek stuff to enjoy with some Daniel Craig humor. Was glad to see Q playing a more active role. All i all the 150 minutes just flew by.The movie started and in "no" time was finished. That's because its gripping suspense and action .A lot of things are happening.
Secrets and Lies (2015)
No way you can wait another week for next episode.(No Spoiler!!)
Just simply outstanding! Ryan Phillippe giving a fantastic performance .Bravo! The whole cast is great but Ryan Phillippe is absolutely convincing in all that he does. The story itself gripping thriller with twists and turns behind every corner .Just when you think you know where its going, you find yourself on a totally new avenue of suspense ,drama trying to figure out who could have done what and WHY!!!This drama will keep you thinking about yourself in a similar situation. How would you react if your neighbor/ friend would be a murder suspect ? Or from the other side: how would you feel/behave if you would be a murder suspect but not yet officially accused for it? Season Finale update: Just when you think it can't get any better...it just does! Season 2 review: Season two started with high hopes but very quickly turned, in my mind , to mush of one story getting in to the second then the third getting in to the first whilst the fourth waiting for the fifth to get in to the third. Too many unknowns, too many plots, too many of everything. Just lost the interest as there is no main thread to follow. Yes there is a possible victim and a bunch of possible suspects, but as this season is created even the Pope can be a suspect. (No disrespect! ).So after 4 chapters I have given up on it!
Code Black (2015)
No incentive to wait for the next episode.
First episode aired on Watch TV yesterday in the UK/Ireland.A lot of trailers and publicity proceeded this show.Is it worth it?Difficult to judge from one episode as I have been a fun of ER -The original one.The mind plays tricks on you, and you can't avoid comparing code Black to ER. So yes,it is a very realistic ER.Of course some heart braking stories are there as well, as in any American hospital drama. So what happened in Ep1?not much. Maybe just an introduction to characters? Not really sure. The sad thing is that when the episode ended I did not get any incentive to wait for the next episode. Will Code Black stand up to the publicity it has been given? That remains to be seen.
