Life or Something Like It (2002)
Could have been so much better
This film appears to me as though it was first written as a thriller/drama, but got mauled beyond recognition into yet another feel-good comedy romance with a message, which is completely at odds with the acting and the look of the film! As an earlier review here points out, it looks like a drama and it's acted like a drama - would no studio make it unless it was rewritten as a warm fuzzy? I only saw the second half of the movie and I thought it was a reasonably good drama, but with a cheesy romance subplot (which reminded me of The Ring!!!!)... until it got to the 100% chick flick happy ending which made me want to murder everyone involved. It felt like it had been tacked on to the end of a movie that had already finished - why not get rid of the "live life to the fullest" moral and end it at the "death" scene? Perhaps it could be left to our imaginations as to what happens to the reporter in the end.
Blackadder Goes Forth (1989)
Flasheart may be a one-joke character, but it's a bloody good one!
My favourite episode of the series by far has to be Private Plane, of course because of the hilarious Lord Flasheart. When I saw it (on video) I watched it about 15 times and I was woof-woofing for weeks! That episode also has what is possibly the funniest anticlimax in history, the meeting between Flasheart and the Red Baron. I was all braced for some good old Rik-and-Ade fisticuffs and what do I get? Flash shoots the Baron (What a poof!!) and leaves. Disappointing, but oh so very funny.
Brit Awards 2002 (2002)
A bit late in saying this
What I remember best about this was when they cut to the (rather tiddly) members of Travis after their award was announced.... pretty funny! Well being a fan I am a bit biased... But oh how I love those drunken nerdy Scotsmen :D
