Dirty Dancing (2017)
WHY DID YOU RUIN THE MOVIE? Just tell us why. Why did you do the last scene? WHY? Why did you destroyed the dance scenes? WHY?
Colt Prattes is a decent dancer but the girl was sooooooo wrong. Prattes was nothing like Swayze. I didn't expect to see Patric again but I wanted someone with a really strong presence like his. And although I didn't like at first Prattes, he was way better than Abigail Breslin. She is a good actress but she was totally wrong for the part too.
I can't blame the actors for this abomination we've watched. They did their best.
Nicole Scherzinger was really good, Debra Messing was really hot mama and of course Katey Sagal was sexy as hell.
Frankly was a waste of time. I really hope to watch Prattes and Breslin in something else. And I'm sure that they will be great.
Frankly I find this series at least AWFUL.
Nice girls, not so good looking men.
A typical story-line. Just to have an excuse to show tits.
It is a soft porn but the worst kind.
I mean, if you have watched Red Shoe Diaries or the movies Nine 1/2 Weeks, Wild Orchid or Basic Instinct, you can understand the TRUE sexual tension, the eroticism. Or the mini series Flesh and Bone.
I truly believe that there is plenty of room for erotic series either on Showtime or in any other cable channel.
But "Submission" is a total waste of time.
The Durrells (2016)
pros: 01.Great photography of the island of Corfu. 02.Good cast. 03.interesting story.
cons 01.Ok, Corfu wasn't as strict as other places in Greece but we're talking about 1935. NO WAY a girl could be kissing with someone in public. 02.We Greeks do speak loud but we are not crazy. Spiros in the first episodes seemed totally crazy. -The characters are not very likable. At least until the 4th episode.
I can't say that I liked it. I think that it should be more accurate to the morals of the particular period. I'm not sure if I'm gonna watch it in the second season.
An excellent episode.
This episode was EXCELLENT.
We've waited 6 years to know the truth. And man, this is what most of us hoped and wanted.
For all the haters out there:
You CANNOT judge what happened based on your religion. God is beyond religions and fundamentalism. God created us in his own image so as Joan Osborne said: What if God was one of us?
This show showed us an alternative outlook of God and I personally LOVED it.
Kudos to the creators. The show is in its 11th season and still giving us GREAT stories and episodes.
The Family (2016)
Not bad as I initially thought
I have to be honest. When I saw the pilot I was very skeptical about this show. Too much clichés for me. But episode to episode it gets better. The first thing that I REALLY like is that we know most of the things very early in the show. I'm sick and tired of wasting time in series that doesn't give us clues or facts. The second thing that I like is the cast. They do an amazing job here. Especially Andrew McCarthy and Michael Esper. I've caught myself staring Michael Esper with hate because I really believed he was like his character. And this means that he's amazing in this role.
Yes the pilot was not good but the show deserve your time.
The Wiz Live! (2015)
I wasn't sure what to expect from the show. Well I'm not familiar with the wizard of Oz. (Did I hear a "shame on you"?) I didn't like the story, not a fan of fairy tales. But the songs, the music and the performances were marvelous. I didn't know Elijah Kelley but man, he's got a great voice. I knew David Alan Grier from his "In Living Color" days but now he really impressed me. And Ne-Yo was PERFECT in his songs. Queen Latifah is brilliant. Who would have guessed 30 years earlier that this young rapper would become such a charismatic actress and singer. Amber Riley, perfect as always. Uzo Aduba, was a pleasant surprise. Shanice Williams, was good too. But to be honest I didn't like Mary J Blige.
I think the show is a must-see for the music and the performers.
Don't bother to watch it
Well, my opinion is exactly the title.
I mean, I wanted to learn more about Toni, her life and her career.
This movie gave me not a new thing at all for Toni.
It was like someone took the article from Wikipedia and wrote a script. It is supposed to be a biography but the whole feeling is that it was total fictional.
The only thing I learned is that Tamar was a drama queen since childhood. I guess that if I want to learn more for Toni I have to watch The Braxton Family Values.
But to be honest Lex Scott Davis and Debbi Morgan were very good in their roles.
Grease Live! (2016)
I got be honest. I was worried about this show. I'm not a fan of Aaron Tveit and I do like Hough as a dancer but as an actress and mostly as a singer? Hm I didn't know. Well, I have to admit that they were better than expected. Julianne is already comfortable with the big live shows in TV and she did great job. Aaron was nervous and you could tell but in the end was marvelous. The rest cast was good too. Vanessa Hudgens did an incredible job considering her loss. And I really liked that we could watch the things behind the scene.
Not a waste of time at all. And if you wanted to watch the movie, then rent it and watch it again.
I don't write very often reviews. But in this case I feel that I really have to write one. I found this movie awful. We all remember the story. Neither Whitney nor Bobby were so innocent.
We all then thought that Bobby pushed her to drugs but now we all know that it was the exact opposite thing.
The actors were no good. The production was poor. A month ago was released a documentary called "Whitney And Bobby Addicted To Love". If you want to know more truths about the story you should watch this one.
RIP Whitney. You've been the greatest singer. RIP Bobbi Christina. I really feel that you had no chance with the crazy lifestyle of both of your families. May you both find true peace in your souls.
Grace and Frankie (2015)
Good but for a specific audience
Let me start by saying that I love the 4 actors.
The good news: This is a good production with very good cast.
The bad news: It is for a specific target group. I'm almost 40, single, no children. I cannot understand, I cannot feel what Frankie and Grace are feeling. This is very natural of course. So a lot of the audience cannot watch it. Another thing that I don't like is that it's a very "cold" show. THose who have watched Parenthood can understand what I'm saying. Now, that's not a generation's gap. It's how they've developed the story. I cannot feel the pain because I almost didn't see it.
It has its cons but it's a good production and I'm going to watch it for the great cast.
