The Lost Boys (1987)
Finally seen this film
Quite embarrassing, but I just saw this film for the first time last week. My girlfriend rented it, and at first I refused to watch it out of pure spite, but changed my mind when she made me an offer that I couldn't refuse. Lets just say I was able to watch the film with my hands behind my head. Was a real good film. Can't believe I waited this long to see it. Don't know how they're going to bring back any of the cast into the sequel...if they even make one. Heard Keifer Sutherland would be given the opportunity to return. Joel Schumaker directed this and did a good job. Jason Patric has come a long way since this film so it'd be good to see him come back to. Booya!
The Piano (1993)
There a first time for everything
Saw this film for the first time and was surprised by how good it was. Definitely some of the best female performances I've seen in a long time and saying that means something since us cowpolk down here in the heat look at woman like cattle and these chics didn't act that way in the film. Looked like the little girl from x-men was in this...Anna Paquin. Knew she was going to be a superstar the minute you saw her on screen. Holly Hunter was tremendous, but it was difficult to look at Harvey Keitel with a straight face. Bad Lieutenant is one of my favorite movies so seeing him work his magic on this one was bizarre. This movie wins "The boots". Ala :=Larry the cable guy.."Git er done". And why exactly must I write 10 lines about each movie I want to comment about?
Saw a premier of this film and was pleasantly surprised. Most of us old texans look at Mandy Moore and want to scream, but she did quite well. Still wouldn't mind saddling her up though. Jena Malone has come a long way from her Donnie Darko days and looks allot older now. And what can you say about Macaulay Caulkin? The very thought of him and his Michael Jackson relationship still makes me want to puke. Either way it was an eye opener to see him on the big screen again and not holding his cheeks while screaming. Chad Faust had a small part, but was good. He could be something some day. Heading on down to a ponderosa now.
Movie was good. three out of five.
The bitter sequel
Henry should of never came back. Considering the easy thing to do is write another script involving a serial killer, you'd like to think the studio's could hire somebody with a little more creativeness.
There are too many low indy pics about serial killers that a far better than this piece of garbage.
The Matrix Reloaded (2003)
Finally gained the courage to watch this
Amazing the different outlook you can have at a movie when you go in with no expectations. I was entertained, and utterly confused. The good thing is I could go back and look at the DVD to slow down the architect's point.
The Passion of the Christ (2004)
The movie, not the whining
I saw a screening of this too. Fantastic movie. Regardless of your beliefs, try to keep an open mind on this. The acting was good and Mel Gibsons vision, although controversial, depicted such a brutal and graphic show of suffering of Christ. B+
