The Tall Man: Bitter Ashes (1960)
Patrick and Billy, riding along, decide to visit Pat girlfriend. Just so happens her house is on fire. 2 men are there, 1 flaming they built their house on his land. So he burns it down. Not much Garrett can do seeing how it IS on his land. Garrett warns the arsonist/owner, owner makes threats himself. Billy tries to start a fight but Pat tells him to back down. Later Pat asks his gf to marry him, she says yes. And here's the spoiler, What happens when the star of the show, especially a western, is about to get married? We all know. I call it "The Cartwright Curse" because it happens so many times on Bonanza. Cool ending though.
Quincy M.E.: Beyond the Open Door (1983)
A teenage girl hitchhikes to school. A middle aged man gives her a ride. He takes a turn away from the school, the girl gets angry. When he stops, she gets out, says she's going to report him to the police, and takes down his plate number. The she walks away, in the middle of the alley as if nothing happens. Who would do this?? Who would tell someone they are going to the police like she did?? She turns around, sees the car coming at her, and just stands there. No feeling bad here, just laughter about how stupid this scene was. The rest of the episode improves, but not by much. Jack Klugman was a fantastic actor, but this must've seemed stupid to him too. I loved the show, but this episode gets my lowest rating.
