OK lets get something right, most of the people who disapprove of the movie are just nit picking and not stating legit bad things about the movie. What's the difference you may ask? A nit pick would be saying this is set in the real world and everybody has different colored skin like purple, blue, yellow etc. Now let's say everyone had the proper skin coloration. Would that really make the story/movie that much better? NO! Come on people this is MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC which is based in fantasy so you can make up your own rules and the fact that they said it was an ALTERNATE world, NOT The REAL World. While another Horse related show like HORSELAND was based in a realistic kind of world and not so much driven by fantasy so you would expect everyone to look more like realistic people. It's just something you noticed because the story didn't engage you (I will get to why it didn't for most in a minute that in a minute).

So if that is a nit pick then what IS something bad about the story that could of made the movie that much better? Well for me it was 2 things. The first was although these clicks were separated from others and primarily stick with their own kind it would have been fitting to see some hostility toward each other. It didn't need a sub plot but show that they weren't getting along so that when Twilight does her song in the cafeteria these characters will get this feeling that yeah we can still be true to who we are and still be friends. Will feel more genuine and so carbon copied and cliché'd and, when she does win the crown it makes the victory THAT much more triumphant. So sense they didn't utilize such a thing, minus a star.

Another was the resolution between the girls. It was all resolved to quick and felt rushed. Plus you would think that if Flutter Shy wanted her event to be taken seriously and Pinkie Pie get's a text from her saying she wanted a big party instead but didn't actually send such a message...Wouldn't they have confronted each other and showed her the message? All these misunderstandings felt like it wasn't that big enough of a reason for them to no longer be friends especially over something so stupid. I feel like there needed to be a better reason as to why they aren't getting along and again will make this world feel like Twilight should be there. Minus a star (Which is what lead me to give an 8 out of 10 rating)

Now as for why the story didn't engage the people...Honestly I think it's because people just see a high school setting and think it's going to be a cliché'd high school movie. Which it isn't at all because in most high school movies/stories it's all about the character fitting in but that was never the goal for either Twilight or Sunset Shimmer. Some moments in high school stories happen but they never feel like it's the mane focus of the movie. So when events like the dance is ruined and Twilight has to fix it up. It's not for the sake of fitting in or popularity. It's all part of the plan to get her crown back (Tactics, see what I mean?)

The high school is just a set and is not the focus of the story but people will see school + humanized MLP characters = Cliché' High School Movie. Which again is the wrong answer. The goal for the two characters is to win the crown and not fit in. SS wants it gain more power and to take over Equestria while TS wants it to save Equestria and, again has NOTHING to do about fitting in. So it's not the kind of movie people think it is. Both SS & TS are in a sense strategists implying the tacticians they have learned to win this battle. People also complain that the sledge hammer would go right through the portal when SS threatens to destroy it. Well let's think about that for a minute, it was established that the back of the base end of the statue was the portal. Not the other sides so it is still possible to destroy the portal.

I will admit that some people have good points on how flawed the ending is and sure some of the stuff they bring up makes a lot of sense BUT, SS does such a good job in portraying how smart she or at the very least how much she stands behind her tactics that I just believe she has another plan in her back pocket to get around all these obstacles. So I can't quite bring myself to minus a star. So please keep information like this in mind when you decide to watch it and I hope you enjoyed as much as I did.

If you watch this movie as if it had no connections to the video game...It's not that bad. I loved the sets. The actors were great. And It's basically the same rescue the princess story but in a different setting. Like a more Modern Day Mario. Like I said it's the same Mario Brothers but in a different world. To me Bob embodies Mario perfectly. And So Does John as Luigi. All he needed was the mustache and maybe someone else's voice. It has some really cool action sequences. And I love the flame thrower thing. They could have done a better job on the goombas and koopa though. Look at it as a Mario reference movie. And not the Live Action Mario Movie. And most of all. I loved this movie. To me it shows just how flawed Darwin's Theory really is. It really is JUST a theory. To say we as people were able to a Tiger (From where ever it came from. We don't know how we got some in the first place). And manage to keep them mating until we manage to shrink them down into the lovable house cat we have to day. We don't know. And say we DID do that. Tigers would be so used to us feeding them they wouldn't know how to hunt. Sigfried and Roy couldn't even TAME a tiger. How the hell were we able to domesticate one? As for the Hitler analogy. Hitler used Darwin's theory of evolution and applied it to people and looked what happened. Their not saying Darwin lovers will become like Hitler. But people have done harm in the name of Darwin. Meaning Darwin lovers are no better than the religious they claim to hate. And people who look at I.D. have made these Discoveries. People forget to look at the mathematical evidence that life could start on its own. And it cant. I think people are just made because they went after something these people love and cherish.
