I am not delusional enough to think that they will watch every movie. High school will get busy, they'll go out with friends and dates. But, I figured one movie a month during the school year isn't too much, with a few more thrown in during the Summer. We'll see.
I started watching old movies about 10 yrs ago when the American Film Institute (AFI) printed the top 100 best movies of all time. I included some of their rankings as an FYI. As with everyone else, I would rank the movies differently. However, it give you a historical sense of some of the movies. Some highly ranked movies are just not my cup of tea, so they are not on here (Lawrence of Arabia, Raging Bull, Chinatown, 2001 Space Odyssey).
There are many other movies that could be included, but I did not want to include a string of violent, dark movies in a row. Movies like Pulp Fiction, The Graduate, A Clockwork Orange, Goodfellas, and the Departed are not here - they can be seen when they are adults.
