Tong sum fung bo (2007)
Heart of Greed
This 40-episode drama is a story of the wealthy Tong family who owns a renowned sea-products store.
There are many twists and turns throughout the series, all of which revolve around the Tong Family. Overall, it is a study of many human traits, including those who seek every opportunity to fulfill their ambitions at any cost, those who consider themselves superior to everyone else, those who betray others, those who love and respect their siblings, those who stay loyal to their beloved, those who remain grateful for whatever they get, and those who manage to endure to the end.
Acting was decent.
Oblivious (2001)
Welcome to the Oblivious, the game show you don't know you're on!
Welcome to the Oblivious. It's the hidden camera game show you don't know you're on!
Host Regan Burns, in disguise, chats with complete strangers and inserts 5 trivia questions. After revealing himself and the hidden camera's location, Burns gives the unsuspecting contestants $20 cash for each correct answer. A "lightning round"(as many questions as possible in 60 seconds) is also done with the $20 per correct answer payout. Scantily-clad models are frequently seen carrying a visual aid for a $100 bonus question. The first player each show is given a chance for more money by pulling Burns' routine on someone else with Burns feeding them lines and questions through a hidden earpiece. The new player still gets $20 per correct answer but the player-turned-host gets $100 for each of the new player's correct answers. At commercial breaks, Burns stops some random people and asks them one question for $20.
Theme Song:
You might think I'm acting' funny Might not take me serious You won't know you're winning money 'Cause you are oblivious! Watch out for Oblivious.
Jerry Seinfeld: 'I'm Telling You for the Last Time' (1998)
Highly Recommended! Highly re-watchable!
Jerry Seinfeld is one of my favorite comedians. His materials and observational humor are always fresh and hilarious because of his superb delivery style.
A few years ago, we were so happy to find a copy of his HBO special at a local video store. We bought it without hesitation. Haven't watched it for a few years, but recently, we decided to pop it in the VCR and watch it again. We were pleased that all of his jokes were still very funny and relevant.
The HBO special "I'm Telling You for the Last Time" was for Seinfeld to perform his routines one last time before retiring them for good. Here is a recap of his materials in the HBO special: Cab Drivers, Air Travel, Florida, Halloween, Supermarkets, Drugstores, Doctors, Men & Women, McDonald's, Chinese People, Olympics, Scuba Diving, No. 1 Fear, Sky Diving/The Helmet, Clothing, Late TV, Crooks, Horses, and Bathroom.
I'm sure in a few years when we pop it in the VCR again, it would still be very funny and watchable. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Bits and Bytes (1983)
Educational computer series in the early 80's
I became interested in computers partially due to the TVO series "Bits and Bytes". Each episode covered a unique topic (such as computer generated music, graphics and animations, programming in AppleSoft BASIC, reading/writing files using floppy disks, games, graphics tablets, etc.)
Although it will seem dated now, the series was very popular in the 80's. Many teachers used to show this series in classrooms.
Well done, TVO!!!
